National League action continues while Premier League and Championship stars pause for the international break, and there is plenty of action going on in England’s lower leagues.
One game sees promotion chasing Yeovil Town take on fellow contenders Halifax, in a game effectively being played for seventh place, the final play-off spot come the end of the season.
As an important fixture approaches, here is everything you need to know about both sides ahead of kick-off.
Yeovil Town Predicted Lineup (5-4-1): Oliver Wright (GK); Alex Whittle, Jake Wannell, Finn Cousin-Dawson, Dominic Bernard, James Plant; Kofi Shaw, Brett McGavin, Charlie Cooper, Frank Nouble; Harvey Greenslade.
Yeovil have been on a sparkling run of form recently, which has seen last seasons National League South Winners confound all critics by sitting comfortably in the top half, and fighting for play-off places.
The driving force behind their unexpected competitiveness is their rock-solid defence. For context, they have conceded just four goals in their last 10 competitive games, and have made themselves virtually unsurpassable but for the more glamorous sides.
While they’re goal scoring record isn’t quite as impressive, scoring once has been enough to achieve points in four of their last nine, and with no significant injuries to speak of, there is no reason why Yeovil can’t continue this positive run of snatch and grab results.
Halifax Town Predicted Lineup (4-2-3-1): Sam Johnson (GK); Ryan Galvin, William Smith, Jo Cummings, Adam Senior; Scott High, Jack Evans; Andrew Oluwabori, Florent Hoti, Jamie Cooke; Billy Waters.
Similarly to their 2023/24 campaign, Halifax have been effective but not spectacular. Finishing seventh last season, they currently sit eight, and are once again quietly making a case for a promotion spot.
However, their recent form has been inconsistent. Narrow defeats to Rochdale and York were sandwiched by similarly marginal wins against Boston and Woking, with fans tearing their hair out at these agonisingly close games.
Halifax need to show that they can grab a game by the scruff of its neck and control it, something they have an opportunity to do against table neighbours Yeovil. It will be a tight game, but if Halifax can impose themselves and win convincingly, teams around them will start to view the team as a serious threat.

Historical Head to Head - Yeovil Town: 4. Drawn: 2. Halifax Town: 2.
Our two protagonists here are very evenly matched, and looking at the table alone, it is hard to pick a winner.
We are backing Yeovil town to scrape through with a win here though, as they strive to consolidate their seventh place status.
Should they win, they will be at the very least three points ahead of their nearest rivals following the conclusion of the weekend's games, and they will maintain the position even if they draw.
Yeovil Town 1-0 Halifax Town
This one looks set to be a low scorer. Yeovil focus on maintaining consistent defensive shape, while Halifax have a habit of disappearing once they miss one or two big chances in a game.
Add the fact that the teams are so close in the table, and this game is guaranteed to be a hard-fought, one goal margin of victory, and given stakes are high, I wouldn’t be surprised of we saw quite a few cards too.
