York City vs Braintree Town Betting Tips and Predictions | Football Park

Whilst most of the higher leagues in the English footballing pyramid have players all over the place because of the International Break, the National League is still up and running with York City inviting Braintree Town to the LNER Community Stadium on Tuesday night.

York City

11 years ago and York City were in League Two. In that time and they have seen two relegations, a league title and now currently reside in the National League. York should have been title winners and seen promotion in the 2019/20 season but the across the National League divisions, football was suspended due to the pandemic, the opportunity to go up harshly taken away from them. Thankfully for York it only took two years after that incident to see them in the National League as they won the 21/22 National League Playoff Final, the six year wait to make it back was over.

The start of the season has gone extremely well for The Minstermen. A 1-1 draw with Southend on opening weekend was followed by back to back wins against Tamworth and Rochdale, 2-0 and 1-0 respectively. Then it was another draw for York, this time sharing a point with Sutton United after that match ended 2-2. It went worse as they suffered their first loss of the season in a 0-2 defeat to Boston United. In York City’s most recent two games and they have gotten back to winning ways with two 0-2 away from home versus both Dagenham & Redbridge and Wealdstone.

York City vs Braintree Town

Braintree Town

Finally back in the National League after six years, Braintree Town are suffering in this competition once again. Last season saw Braintree gain promotion through the National League South Playoff Final, claiming a 3-4 victory over Worthing thanks to an extra time winner in the 108th minute. One match doesn’t tell the full story as they earned their playoff spot by finishing in fifth place with 81 points, 23 wins, 11 losses and 12 draws. They will look to achieve similar results but this time in the division above.

They haven’t gone the best way about doing so as of yet however. Currently residing in 18th place after seven games doesn’t bode well for their aims of not going straight back down. Two consecutive losses from the first two games, 3-0 to Oldham and 0-1 to Yeovil didn’t deter them as they won their next match versus Aldershot Town, giving them hope for the future. That wasn’t to last long as a 1-1 draw against Solihull Moors was the next result for The Iron. Coincidentally and the previous three matches Braintree Town have played have ended up in goalless draws. Ebbsfleet United, Hartlepool United and Woking were all unable to find the back of the net against them but on the other hand, neither could Braintree.

What’s the tip?
