5 Best Young Players Who Could Make a Move This Summer

22/06/24 21:13

Despite the 2024 Euros being well underway, the transfer deals and rumours are still in their peaks.

While some older players, like Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos, are retiring, room is being created for young talents to make their move to some of the big clubs.

Therefore, here are five young players you might not know yet, who could make a move this summer.

Leny Yoro - Lille

Leny Yoro, possibly the most talked about young talent in the world right now is very likely to make a move this summer.

The 18-year-old Frenchman plays as a centre-back for Ligue 1 side Lille and has been, despite his young age, a regular starter for the club in the last season.

Yoro has been with the ‘Les Dogues’ since his youth and according to Transfermarkt, reached a market value of €50m.

During the past season, his performances have been recognised by top clubs such as Bayern Munich, Paris Saint Germain and Liverpool, who were all hoping to sign the France U21 international.

Yoro mentioned before that his preferred option are Champions League winners Real Madrid and according to Fabrizio Romano, who Football Park rate as a tier one in reliability, the defender has agreed to personal terms with the club and is now just waiting for the club to make a decision.

Although no contract has been signed yet and no official announcement about a possible transfer has yet been made, the likelihood of Yoro leaving Lille to join the Spanish side is high.

Joshua Zirkzee - FC Bologna

Joshua Zirkzee is another player who is very likely to leave his current club, FC Bologna, this summer to explore his skills elsewhere.

The 23-year-old has played for Bayern Munich's youth team and had a couple of appearances for their first team before going on loan to Parma Calcio and RSC Anderlecht for one year each.

He joined the Italian side in 2022 and still has a contract with them until 2026, but the release clause in his contract allows him to leave the club sooner.

The Dutch international has been especially linked with AC Milan and a move to them seems most likely at this current stage.

There have been talks about the midfielder going back to his old club, Bayern, but this now seems rather unlikely.

Baylee Dipepa - Port Vale

Manchester United are reportedly leading the race in signing Baylee Dipepa, an EFL striker for Port Vale.

Dipepa only signed his first professional contract with the club in January but regardless, a transfer is likely for him in the summer, as he impressed with his performance in the 22 matches he played for Port Vale last season.

The 17-year-old has raised interest from big clubs like West Ham, Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund but English side Manchester United are supposedly closest to pursuing a transfer with him.

Although United have a decent striker with Rasmus Hojlund, a back-up is necessary as Mason Greenwood is leaving the club on a mutual agreement.

Omari Kellyman - Aston Villa

Omari Kellyman has signed his first professional contract with Aston Villa in September 2022. Now, Chelsea are interested in signing the 18-year-old for a reportedly £19m.

Kellyman joined Villa from Derby County in 2022 and ever since gained attention from other clubs. He also plays for England U19 national team.

Apparently, a broad agreement has already been made with the English side but personal terms and details are yet to be finalized.

The English international only had two appearances for Villa’s first team where he got subbed on in the games against Crystal Palace and Manchester City but Chelsea apparently want to sign him to work with him long-term and make him a starter for the club.

Jobe Bellingham - Sunderland

Last but not least, Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham has been linked with multiple clubs he could possibly join this summer.

The 18-year-old midfielder only joined Sunderland for the 2023/24 season but has played an important role for the club ever since his signing: He has played in 45 matches in the Championship and managed to score seven goals.

Bellingham has not been in the spotlight too much yet, as his older brother, Jude Bellingham received the most media attention of the family with his move to Champions League winners Real Madrid last season.

Nonetheless, the younger brother has certainly impressed and there are rumours that he might join Premier League’s Crystal Palace.

Furthermore, many other clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, Brentford and Tottenham but Sunderland want to try and hold the midfielder for at least another season.

While none of these five possible transfers have been confirmed yet, the players are young and eager to develop their career and moving to a bigger club would be the first step into gaining more attention and interest from the football world.
