With that, here is the round-up of every match that took place across England’s top flight during Saturday’s matches.

Aston Villa 1-2 Nottingham Forest

Aston Villa’s early season woes continued at Villa Park wirh a late defeat to Oliver Glasner’s Nottingham Forest.

After a relatively low-key first half, the deadlock was broken less than a minute following the restart for the second period, with Forest’s record signing Liam Delap unleashing a powerful low drive from distance which flew into the bottom corner to give the away side the advantage.

Villa, still awaiting their first goal of the Premier League season after finding the net in the UEFA Champions League in Brugge in midweek, nearly found their equaliser minutes after going behind, but Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels kept them at bay which a brilliant double save

However, Villa would have their moment on 75 minutes, Brazilian winger Alysson glanced a header home from a John McGinn cross to get Villa off the mark for the season and crucially draw the match level.

But with just two minutes of normal time remaining, Forest deflated Villa Park once more and re-took the lead through a delicate finish from a Morgan Gibbs-White backheel.

The loss leaves Villa in the bottom three still awaiting a win, whilst Glasner picked up his first three points as Forest boss.

Chelsea 2-2 Hull City

Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea stagnated once more as Hull City again Surpised as the Tigers held the Blues to a draw at Stamford Bridge, and it could have easily been more.

When Morgan Rogers gave Chelsea the lead in the opening minutes, just as he did a week before at Emirates Stadium vs Arsenal, firing in at the near post wirh his left foot, Hull fans could be forgiven for fearing their team’s chances of a result were already fading beyond them.

However, as they have so far this season, the Tigers defied the belief of many, and found their way back into the game with an equaliser through forward Mohamed Belloumi midway through the half, the Algerian firing in on the half-volley past Emiliano Martinez after a mistake from Chelsea’s Jorrel Hato who let the ball bounce over his head and allowed Belloumi to strike.

But things would soon get even better for both Belloumi and Hull as the ball once more fell to the 24 year-old who struck an effort which deflected into the net to turn the game around and give Hull the lead going into the break, stunning the Stamford Bridge crowd.

The Blues struggled to break down the Tigers resilient defence in the early stages of the second period, but found their goal with Joao Pedro firing in first time, meeting a low Cole Palmer cross for 2-2.

However, the Hull backline remained strong and the Tigers were a threat on the counter-attack, and the away side had the best chance in the latter stages to win it with new striker Mohamed Ali-Cho getting on the end of a cross at the back post, but Martinez saved well.

The draw keeps Hull unbeaten on a fine return to the Premier League and a point above Chelsea in third, with the Blues in fourth place.

Crystal Palace 2-3 Ipswich Town

Gary O’Neil’s Ipswich secured a big win away from home at Selhurst Park. With new signing Zian Flemming scoring a late winner.

The match however got off the perfect start for hosts Crystal Palace, with wing-back Anan Khalaili firing into the far bottom corner from the right flank to give Palace the lead inside the opening fifteen minutes.

However, Pierre Sage’s side were only ahead for nine minutes, as Ipswich striker Emersonn scored his second goal of the season, meeting a Lief Davis cross with a powerful header. With the goal surviving a VAR check for offside against the Ipswich left-back.

And soon after, the match would have the oppruntity to swing in favour of the visitors, wirh Palace centre-back Axel Disasi being shown a straight red card for what was seen as a dangerous lunge for thr ball, where the Frenchman’s studs made contact with the shin of his opponent.

Ipswich would capitalise on their player advantage, wirh Davis turning goalscorer, heading in himself with Emersonn thr one to provide to give the Tractor Boys a 1-2 lead just before the break.

However, Palace would hit back fifteen minutes from ninety with a fine finish across goal from striker Jorgen Strand Larsen. But Ipswich would have the final say, with Zian Flemming bundling in on his debut for Ipswich just before the clock struck ninety minutes, giving Ipswich their second win of the season as Palace lost their third game from the first four.

AFC Bournemouth 2-2 Brentford

Both Bournemouth and Brentford were forced to settle for a point on the South Coast at the Vitality Stadium in a back-and-forth clash.

Despite chances at both ends failing to be finished in the early stages, the deadlock was eventually broken in the 34th minute, and from the away side, with Kevin Schade heading home into the bottom right corner from a floated cross to give the Bees the advantage and score his second goal of the season.

However, just four minutes later Borunemouth hit back. Moments after winger Rayan had squandered a big chance to equalise, Justin Kluivert found a yard of space in the Brentford box and managed to snatch a shot into the corner of the net with his weaker left foot to draw Marco Rose's side level just before the break.

And just as they did in the latter minutes of the first half, Bournemouth scored in the early minutes of the second half, with striker Evanilson laying the ball back to Marcus Tavernier who struck low and hard into the corner to turn the game around and give Bournemouth the 2-1 lead they craved.

However, anything Bournemouth could do so could Brentford as just like in the first half, a goal was met by another just minutes later. With four minutes gone since Bournemouth took the lead, Cherries goalkeeper Djordje Petrović attempted to play a pass out, however saw it intercepted by Schade, who lifted the ball over the retreating Serb and into the net to put the game level once more and claim his third goal of the season.

The eventual draw is Bournemouth's third in a row, as Marco Rose still hunts for his first win in charge of the Cherries, whilst Brentford move to sixth.

Liverpool 0-0 Fulham

Fulham held Andoni Iraola's Liverpool to a 0-0 draw at Anfield as Alvaro Arbeola picked up his first point as Fulham boss.

However, the match was not starved of chances at goal. With first big chance of the game fell to the hold side after nine minutes, with Alexander Isak peeling away from the Fulham defence before shooting a first-time effort narrowly wide of the post.

And just two minutes later, Fulham would have their own chance to take the lead, a poor pass out from goalkeeper Allisson saw his short pass intercepted, with Josh King having a shot which was heading for the net, if not for Jérémy Jacquet who had positioned himself on the line to clear.

Liverpool would come closest of the two teams in the first period from a set piece, with a corner finding the head of winger Victor Munoz who's effort smashed off Bernd Leno's crossbar.

The second half saw Liverpool struggle to break down Fulham, Dominik Szoboszlai came close with a fiece effort at goal but Leno kept it out, with Fulham also having chances towards the end with Liverpool looking nervous at the back. King once more came close, fiiring a shot which was saved by Allisson, before Kevin struck wide in the final minutes.

The referee brought to a close a frustrating afternoon for Liverpool, who have now drawn three of their four Premier League matches so far.

Tottenham Hotspur 0-0 Everton

Tottenham's wait for a goal in the Premier League this season went on as they played out a 0-0 draw with Everton in North London.

Spurs went into the game as one of just two Premier League sides who had failed to find the net folowing Aston Villa finally getting on the scoresheet themselves vs Nottingham Forest, however they started this match well, however couldn't find a way through Jordan Pickord or the Everton defence. Whilst Everton's one main chance of a first half that saw them on the back foot for much of the action came from a free-kick which was driven low by James Garner, which was kept out by Antonín Kinský.

The second half saw Everton come out with more to offer, and they nearly took the lead at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium midway through the second half after Kiernan Drewsbury-Hall won the ball off Kinský, however the goalkeeper recovered well to make a strong stop to keep out the Everton midfiedler's shot.

As Spurs pushed for a late winner, thei first goal of the season nearly came when Lucas Bergvall let fly from distance, his curling shot was heading for the corner, but Pickford kept it out with a strong stop.

The full-time whistle was met with some boos from the home support, as they'll have to wait until at least Gameweek five to see their team win, and score, in the new Premier League season.

Sunderland 0-2 Arsenal

The last game of the day saw Arsenal make it four wins from four at the Stadium of Light to go top of the league after a dramatic second half on Wearside.

The first half was close, intense, and lacked genuine goalmouth threat from either team, with Arsenal forcing Sunderland goalkeeper Robin Roefs into action just once, when Kai Havertz struck a volley on the turn towards goal, which was pushed over by the Dutch stopper. Sunderland meanwhile came closest through a free-kick from ex-Gunner Granit Xhaka midway through the half, which was whipped brilliantly into a dangerous area towards defender Dan Ballard, also an ex-Arsenal player, but the centre-back could not divert his effort towards goal.

However, the second half was anything but low-key.

Just six minutes following the restart, a penalty was awared to the hosts after Ezri Konsa was judged to have hauled down Ballard. Enzo Le Fée stepped up for Sunderland, however his spotkick was superbly kept out by David Raya, diving low to his left and getting a hand to the ball to turn it onto the post and away.

And less than three minutes after, the travelling Arsenal supporters would have another reason to celebrate, as former Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimarães, introduced as a substitute at half-time, let fly with a strike from outside the box, a strike which crashed off the underside of the bar and in to give Arsenal a crucial lead as the Brazilian celebrated in front of the Sunderland fans.

Sunderland would have chances to equalise, with Le Fée putting a low cross across the Arsenal box towards Nordi Muiekle, who's backheel was blocked before Arsenal scrambled the ball away.

Kevin Danso, signed from Tottenham, managed to get a toe onto a cross from Xhaka which Raya was forced to push away, before a Bukayo Saka penalty, and red card for left-back Renildo, sealed the deal in the final minute, and confirmed that just for the sixth time in the club's history, Arsenal have won their first four top flight league matches.
