Chairman’s Fiancee Argues With Fans On Social Media: It Can’t Get Any Worse For West Ham… Can It?

It can’t get any worse for the Hammers right now, can it? Without wanting to make too obvious of a reference... it can.

West Ham United: once known for Bobby Moore and one of the best Academies in football. Now? They’re known for being 19th in the Premier League with one win in five, having a fanbase in chaos, and for club chairman David Sullivan's fiancée calling out fans on X.

A Club In Crisis

Saturday summed it all up. A 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, protests outside the ground, and players who look no better than Steve Bracknall’s Royal Oak FC side. They’re struggling.

But, the real pantomine show hasn't been on the pitch at the London Stadium. Ah, no. It was on X.

Ampika Pickston, fiancee of owner David Sulivan (and former Real Housewives star) decided the first thing to do was not to comfort her soon-to-be husband over yet another loss, but to get out her phone and smash fans on X in defence of her man.

What is it people call it - the ick? That feels relevant at the moment.

“Who The F- Are You?

One fan plucked up the courage to give Pickston some back. It was an expectedly proper West Ham fan reply: “Who the f*** are you?".

It escalated from there, quite quickly. Ampika went on a rampage and blocked several fan accounts on X. Even ex-ambassador Jon Benjamin got blocked.

Meanwhile, on the pitch, Graham Potter has won just one game in his last five, the club are 19th, and Nuno Espirito Santo has been spotted close to Sullivan’s house. Coincidence? Or is the West Ham board already searching for a new gaffer while Potter Googles “ EFL Championship jobs available 2025”?

Bookies Favourites For The Next West Ham Job

When the glaringly obvious happens, and Graham Potter is sacked, who will be next to take over at West Ham? Obviously Nuno has been mentioned, but there’s a few more on the list according to BetVictor:

Nuno Esperito Santa FAV @ 1.57

Slaven Billic @ 2.25 (surely not)

Gary O’Neil @ 6.0

Sean Dyche @ 13.0

Michael Carrick @ 15.0

Scott Parker @ 17.0

Liam Rosenior @ 21.0

Our pick? Sean Dyche. Proper old-school football, steady the ship, keep them up and go from there.

Same Old Sullivan

To be fair to West Ham fans, they’ve seen it all before: dodgy signings, questionable managerial appointments, the lot. But supporters seem to look like they’re past caring. They’ve had enough of false promises and empty words. Thousands marched before the game on Saturday against Palace, and now they’re even planning a boycott of the Brentford game at the end of October.

When you’d rather sit at home with your partner & kids all day, instead of a trip to the football, you know it’s bad.

West Ham right now, from the outside, look more like a TV drama than a football club (quite fitting with their obvious link to EastEnders). You’ve got David Sullivan, a billionaire owner. Karren Brady, the executive who’s clearly trying (and failing) to stay out of the drama. And now Ampika Pickston, the reality TV star who’s snapping back at fans on X.

Throw in a relegation scrap, a manager that’s face is being merged into a million and one different people every day and a bubble machine, and you’re slowly starting to become a bit of a comedy drama. It’s quite interesting to watch.
