The Champions League was back last night, and so was Manchester United. They managed to push aside Sabah FK, winning 4-0. However, the biggest story came from off the pitch and in the crowd.

After the game, it was caught on camera that a fan, and someone who gets signatures for the purpose of selling them, approached Darren Fletcher in the stands. Fletcher knew what was going to happen if he signed the shirt and turned down the fan’s approach. That’s when things turned sour.

The fan would proceed to sling insults and expletives at Fletcher, and after a bit of this, the ex-United player had enough. He would turn around and respond in a way that shut the fan up for good.

In the parking lot, Fletcher would shout to the fan, “Listen, it doesn't matter, you can't speak like that.” He would follow that up by saying, “You’re the reason people don’t sign for us.” This got a warm response from fans around them as they started chanting Fletcher’s name.

This should be a lesson to everyone: no matter what you think of someone, you are not entitled to anything. Everyone is human and deserves respect. He was watching the side he used to manage back in the Champions League; that doesn’t mean he’s going to do whatever you want.
