Football Park's Premier League Team of the Year for 2025

Our Premier League Team of the Year

As 2025 comes to an end, here is Football Park’s Premier League Team of the Year. This selection is based on player performances throughout the whole of 2025 and highlighting the ones that have stood out the most whether that is for goals, assists or defensive abilities.

Premier League Team of 2025

Goalkeeper - David Raya The Spanish shots-topper has been a very important part of Arsenal’s defence throughout 2025. His huge saves and consistency have helped the Gunners to maintain such a strong defensive record over the past couple of seasons. He also has fantastic distribution which has provided some dangerous counter attacks in games too.

Right Back - Jurrien Timber The Dutchman began his career as a centre half before he joined the Gunners and since that has been an integral part of Mikel Arteta’s back four, playing on the right side of the defence. He has defensive reliability and also the ability to create chances by making forward runs which makes him one of the best right backs in the league.

Centre Back – Virgil Van Dijk Virgil Van Dijk remains to be an important part of Liverpool’s team with everything he brings to their defence. He is a threat in the air, has composure on the ball and his leadership skills help him to control the defensive line. This was vital to Liverpool’s title winning campaign in the 2024/25 season.

Centre Back – Gabriel Magalhaes Gabriel has been a pivotal part of Arsenal’s great defensive record and is truly missed when he is out injured such as towards the end of 2025. Arsenal are also known for their attacking threat from set pieces and Gabriel is the man on the end of the majority of those set piece goals.

Left Back – Marc Cucurella Marc Cucurella has established himself as the best left back in the Premier League over the past couple of seasons. Since arriving from Brighton, he was slightly struggling at Chelsea but since Enzo Maresca has taken charge, Cucurella has flourished in his system.

Defensive Midfielder – Declan Rice Since arriving at Arsenal, Declan Rice has vastly improved and developed his game to make him more of a complete midfielder. He has everything in his game from his defensive strengths to now adding goals and assists to his game and a fantastic set piece ability. He is arguably one of the most important parts of Mikel Arteta’s system.

Defensive Midfielder – Ryan Gravenberch Gravevnberch has impressed since his arrival at Anfield and has been an integral part of Arne Slot’s success in Merseyside. His movement, ball control and tracking back has helped Liverpool to fill a void which came from Fabinho leaving a few years ago. This season, Liverpool haven’t started as they would have hoped but he has still put together consistent performances most weeks.

Attacking Midfielder – Morgan Rogers The fact that Morgan Rogers is being tipped to go to the World Cup next summer says all you need to know about the year he’s had. He has been crucial to a lot of Aston Villa’s goals this year that helped them qualify for Europe last season and put them in a title race this season.

Left Winger – Antoine Semenyo Antoine Semenyo has really shown his quality for Bournemouth following his move from Bristol City in the 2022/23 season. He has had involvement in most of the Cherries goals so far this season making him the 3rd top scorer in the league and possibly earning him a move to Manchester City in January.

Right Winger – Mohammed Salah The Egyptian achieved 47 goals and assists during Liverpool’s title winning season last campaign. However, this season he hasn’t had the best start and his time at Liverpool is quite uncertain with Slot not including him in a few matchday squads before going off to AFCON.

Striker – Erling Haaland Erling Haaland is arguably the best striker in world football. His combination of pace, strength and finishing has made defences fear playing against him and has helped him to score 19 goals in 18 games so far this Premier League campaign.
