What Teams Have The Easiest Early Fixtures in the Premier League?

This week sees the Premier League kick off once more for another campaign, with new teams, players and managers set to make this new season one of the most interesting and highly anticipated in years.

And a new Premier League term means a new Fantasy Premier League season, with millions of players building their teams and aiming to collect as many points as possible to win their own leagues.

Those looking to build the best possible teams for the opening fixtures will be looking at who has the best chance of claiming the most points, and with that in mind here is our ranking for the five Premier League teams who have the most comfortable early run.

Manchester City

A 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in the 2026 Community Shield in Cardiff, whilst not necessarily being the most important encounter, would have raised alarm bells alongst much of the Manchester City support.

Enzo Maresca's first official competitive game in charge saw his team swept aside by Arsenal, and later news of Rodri's imminent departure will leave City in desperate need of additions in the final weeks of the window if they want to mount a strong challenge for the Premier League title.

What will please Marseca however, is that he has a relatively kind beginning to the new season, offering a strong chance of gaining early momentum despite the change and transition.

City begin their campaign by hosting AFC Bournemouth, in the same clash which saw City's challenge for the 25/26 title end at the home of the Cherries.

The first away trip of the season sees City travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace, before facing newly promoted Coventry City.

Gameweek four sees the big one take place for City fans, as they make the short trip across Manchester for the derby at Old Trafford, with the fifth encounter of the season seeing Sunderland arrive at the Etihad Stadium.

Erling Haaland is a must for most FPL players anyway, but the striker is bound to strike the net on multiple occasions in the early weeks of the season with Fellow City forwards Jeremy Doku and Antonine Semenyo also strong options.

Manchester United

From one side of the city of Manchester to the other, Manchester United will be on the look-out for a strong start to yet another new era in the dugout, with former midfielder Michael Carrick the latest manager to try and return United to the glory days.

Carrick had a strong spell in charge for the second half of the 25/26 season as interim, leading to him being given the permanent gig, and the Red Devils have been given a solid start to the new season for Carrick to prove himself.

The new season for United begins on Saturday at midday, as they travel to the MKM Stadium to face newly promoted Hull City, before returning to Old Trafford for the first time in the new season as they face another newly promoted team in Gary O'Neil's Ipswich Town.

A trip to the Hill Dickinson to face Everton and former manager David Moyes is United's gameweek three fixture, before hosting the aforementioned Manchester Derby the following week, with the fifth fixture of the season seeing a first trip to the capital as Carrick's side face off against Fulham.

Liverpool

Despite winning the Premier League title in his first campaign as Liverpool manager, Arne Slot's reign as Jurgen Klopp's replacement at Anfield did not last long with a poor season following heavy investment in the transfer market seeing the Dutch manager lose his job at the end of the 25/26 season.

The new man in charge in the Anfield dugout is Andoni Iraola, who worked wonders with AFC Bournemouth last season, qualifying the Cherries into European football for the first time in the club's history. And now, he is tasked with bringing silverware and success to one of English football's biggest clubs.

A tricky opening away fixture faces the Basque-born coach and his side as they travel to the North East and St. James Park to face a struggling Newcastle United, before the Reds host Nottingham Forest at Anfield on gameweek two.

Ipswich Town at Portman Road presents Liverpool's challenge the following week, before former Liverpool player Alvaro Arbeola takes his Fulham team to the red half of Merseyside, with Iraola then returning to the south coast and to the Vitality Stadium for Bournemouth away in gameweek five.

Dominik Szoboszlai starred for Liverpool last campagin, and could be a strong choice for your FPL team with his team's opening fixtures alongside star names such as Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Virgil Van Dijk.

Leeds United

Leeds had a strong season back in the top flight under Daniel Farke. The Yorkshire side, after a diffiuclt beginning to the season, became tougher and tougher to beat and eventually comfortably stayed in the divisoon, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin in particular shining as one of the divison's most in-form strikers.

This season, Leeds may look to aim even higher than just another season of survival, with the top half in their sights.

And they have been given an opening run-in capable of earning them points as, despite a trip away to the City Ground vs Nottingham Forest on the opening day where they were soundly beaten last season, three of their next four fixtures are at home at Elland Road.

Brentford visit Yorkshire on gameweek two, before Leeds travel down to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton the following week. And after their trip to the south coast, Leeds then play their next two matches at home against Newcastle and Crystal Palace respectively.

Those early home matches present a strong opportunity for good points on the board early doors in front of an optimistic Leeds support.

Chelsea

It's been a summer of change at Stamford Bridge, but optimism and expectation is high. Xabi Alonso is one of the most respected young coaches in the world and of course worked wonders at Bayer Leverkusen despite a controversially brief spell in charge at Real Madrid.

And with a fanbase that demands success, Alonso and his new-look Chelsea side will need to fly out the blocks this season, and their opening fixtures could present an opportunity to do so.

The Blues first fixture of the season is a West London derby against neighbours Fulham on Monday night, before a trip north to face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Another London derby clash awaits them on their return back from the North East as they face Arsenal at the Emirates in a tough clash, before facing Hull at Stamford Bridge and another West London derby against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Three London derbies take place in their first five matches, and Alonso will be hoping for a positive start to his coaching career in England.
