Ranking Every EFL Championship Side's January Transfer Window

On Monday the 2nd of February the January transfer window slammed shut as teams scrambled to finish their mid season business as we head into the business end of the season.

But this begs the question who had the best window in the EFL Championship and who is likely sat wishing they had done more.

24: Blackburn Rovers

  • Defensive injuries not combatted enough, though Eiran Cashin is a good addition it's simply not enough
  • Valerin Ismael dismissed on deadline day, no clue if players will match with next boss

23: Leicester City

22: Bristol City

  • Marginally saved with additions of Noah Elie and bringing forward Tomi Horvat
  • Not really strengthened the side and more so just taken a sidewards step when strengthening was crucial
  • Losing Zak Vyner and Anis Mehmeti will be big blows to the side

21: West Brom

  • Not really had the injection of ability to required
  • Players brought in aren't necessarily going to be suited to new boss, Eric Ramsay
  • Jimoh-Aloba is a promising young addition on loan

20: Swansea

19: Southampton

  • Keeping a hold of Harwood-Bellis amidst Premier League interest was a big positive
  • Huge loss in losing Adam Armstrong to Wolves
  • Cyle Larin is unproven in England and needs to fill the boots of the clubs highest scorer, big cause for concern

18: Watford

  • Effectively trimmed down the squad to be leaner and more effective
  • Good injection of league proven talent such as Zak Vyner
  • Cadamarteri is a solid young addition and shows intent for the future

  • Keeping a hold of Hackney despite huge Premier League interest is absolutely essential for Middlesborough
  • Strengthened the side in every necessary area
  • Sarmiento is a top tier addition to the squad

2: Birmingham City

1: Derby County

  • Show huge ambition bringing in one of the league's best players in Szmodics
  • Dion Saunderson being made permanent after impressive loan spell and being known well to Eustace
  • Squad has been trimmed well and fresh top tier talent puts them in very good stead to realise play-off ambitions
