Ranking the 20 Best Players in the Premier League Right Now
The Premier League is the richest and best league in the world. That means that everywhere you look there will be elite players. However, the question comes, who are the best players. So, today we will be looking at who the best 20 players currently in the Premier League are.
20 – Bryan Mbeumo (Manchester United)
We start this list off with a player from United. Mbeumo was a different type of player to what United have had in a while. He was direct and dangerous when attacking. That is shown by his 11 goals and 3 assists in 33 match’s last season. While he didn’t have the best opening game, he is still in the top 20.
19. Gianluigi Donnarumma (Manchester City)
Taking a quick step to the other side of Manchester for 19th. Donnarumma is one of 2 goalkeepers who have made this list and as the second-best goalkeeper in the league it makes sense. 15 clean sheets and less than a goal per game conceded last season, does anything else need to be said about this wall of a man?
18. Antoine Semenyo (Manchester City)
The 26-year-old had 2 good half seasons first with Bournemouth and again with City. He scored important goals and helped both sides to good finishes. He is quick and direct. Similar to Mbeumo however, his output is just that extra level above and that’s why he places higher than his United counterpart.
17. Morgan Rogers (Chelsea)
With 10 goals and 6 assists Rogers had a strong season with Villa last season and he has already continued that over. He is direct and strong when carrying the ball forward. His output isn’t always the most consistent and that’s what keeps him down. However, having already started a tally with Chelsea, he could jump a few spaces by the end of the season.
16. Reece James (Chelsea)
Another Chelsea man and this time it’s the captain. Everyone knows how good James is both as a right back and midfielder. However, what keeps him in 15th is the injury issues. When he was managing to play games every week his was higher. However, back being hit by injures he had to drop down a few places.
15. Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
From one captain to another. Van Dijk will always be considered one of the best players and defenders in the league. While his athletic ability isn’t as top as it once was, his reading of the game has only got better. Liverpool will be hoping he stays fit all season with the depth looking worse for wear.
14. Bruno Guimaraes (Arsenal)
The first player from the champions. Bruno is one of the best midfielders in the league with Newcastle. Now surrounded by players that extra level above he will look even better. He is a physical presence and intelligent, a nightmare for most midfielders and attackers in the league. He will sit in 13th as it stands.
13. Cole Palmer (Chelsea)
Palmer is always a hard player to put in these lists. He has some matches where he looks like the best player in the league, however, others where he looks average and doesn’t get involved. However, with a full summers rest he looks to be at his best again especially after last night’s match. If he keeps that form up, he could make top 5 if not top 3 by the end of the season.

12. Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)
Arsenal’s star boy takes his place in this list. Like Palmer he is a difficult player to put on this list. He has spent much of recent seasons watching from the side lines with injuries. However, you can see a difference when he is back. Having helped Arsenal win the league last season, he just edges Palmer in his position.
11. Enzo Fernandez (Chelsea)
Love him or hate him, you can’t disagree that he is a top midfielder. Having been the highest scoring midfielder in the league last season and one of the highest scoring in Europe Enzo does his job as a box crasher to the highest level. While his future at Chelsea is uncertain, it is clear if he stays or goes, he will play a big part in his side.
🚨💣 Manchester City are set to send formal bid before the end of the window for Enzo Fernández!#MCFC want to try again and Enzo has opened doors to the move.

10. Moises Caicedo (Chelsea)
Just above Enzo is his midfield partner Caicedo. One of the best defensive midfielders in the world at his best Caicedo is a monster. Single handedly holding the line between midfield and defence for Chelsea he can do everything. The reason he doesn’t place a few spot higher is because we did see a slight drop in his form towards the back end of the season. However, with 1 game a week we could see him back to his best under Alonso.
9. Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool)
Liverpool’s best player last season places in 9th. He does everything for them, attack, defend score goals, create chances. He will be their main man this season with Salah gone. He will do everything for them. The only thing keeping him down is the fact he is forced to play out of position, and you see weaknesses. However, that is a minor fact. A top player and deserving of the top 10 spot.
8. David Raya (Arsenal)
The second goalkeeper to make the list. Raya is the best goalkeeper in the league and has been for a few seasons. While people can say it’s the defence in front of him, you can’t knock the fact that when he is called into action, he meets the requirement.
7. Joao Pedro (Chelsea)
The second-best striker in the league makes the 7th place spot. Pedro is a special player who can do everything. He is clinical in front of goal and can create. With 15 goals and 5 assists last season he proved himself. Having already started this season with a goal and assist he is carrying on where he left off after not being taken to the World Cup.
6. Ryan Cherki (Manchester City)
The most naturally talented player in the Prem. Cherki is what football should be, fun. He is flair and technical ability all in one. A modern-day entertainer. With 4 goals and 12 assists last season and having already provided 2 assists this season he is a top player and will be special as he grows more.
5. William Saliba (Arsenal)
One of the best defenders in the league is the best defence in the league. He would make this list. He is a Rolls Roce. Class and calm under pressure. He compliments everything Gabriel does and that’s what makes them so difficult to break. That’s why he takes the 5th place on this list.
4. Declan Rice (Arsenal)
The next Arsenal man is Rice. What can you say about him. He has everything, defensively sound and strong carrying the ball forward as well as creating. He has everything you need to be one of the best midfielders in the league. That’s why he places as the second highest ranked midfielder in the league and the 4th best player.
3. Gabriel (Arsenal)

Who would’ve guessed the champions would have had 3 in a row for the top 5.Well, the highest ranked Arsenal player in their main man. The best defender on the planet and a brick wall. His defensive ability is second to none in the league and that isn’t just what makes him important to Arsenal. He ability in the air from their set pieces is vital to the massive success they have found. He more than deserves his spot in 3rd.
2. Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)
The man who holds the record for most assists in a Premier League season. He takes second place. He is the heart and soul of the United attack. He keeps it ticking and moving forward with class and finesse. He makes everything look easy and plays passes that no one else could play. The best attacking midfielder in the league and the second-best player currently in the league.
1. Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
Who else would it be? We take another jump from United to City because Haaland is a joke. His output is on a different level to what we have seen in the Premier League even from the likes of Kane and Salah. Haaland is a machine and will likely keep going this season with Maresca in the dugout.
