Richarlison Going Topless Tottenham’s Curse in Disguise? Every Time Richarlison Has Gone Topless, and it Never Ends Well.

In Tottenham vs Manchester United Richrlison scored what he believed was a last-minute winner to complete the comeback for Spurs after trailing for most of the game. However, there was one more twist in the tail as De Ligt would go up to the other end and break Spurs heart scoring a back post header.

While Spurs fans might not have expected this there should’ve been a clear give away that the game wasn’t finished. This was because Richarlison when celebrating his goal took off his shirt and this has started to come as a red flag for both him and Spurs.

Why is this a red flag?

Well one main thing that has caused it starting to be seen as a curse is because this is the third time he has scored taken his shirt off and something bad has happened. The game against United was the most recent one of the 3 that have now happened and obviously the bad luck that came in this game was the fact Spurs conceded with only 3 minutes left on the clock to draw the game, but what are the other times it’s happened.

Well to find the first time that this happened you would have to go back over 3 years to when he first joined Spurs from Everton. On the 3rd of September 2022 Spurs would face Fulham and while they did end up winning the game, it wasn’t without something unlucky happening. The Brazilian forward had already managed to pick up an assist for Spurs but was still looking for his first goal for the club. In the 90th minute he thought he had it, he scored in the 90th minute to make it 3-1 Spurs. However, he took his shirt off to celebrate, and the curse began.

As expected Richarlison was booked for taking his shirt off as is the rule, however, VAR only made it worse for him as after a review the decision was made that his first goal had to wait with the decision being made that he was offside when he scored the goal. Making this the first demonstration of the curse, while on a lesser scale the curse showed itself, but not for the last time.

We would only have to wait 8 months before the curse would come back. On the 30th of April Tottenham would face Liverpool in a high scoring clash and a clash that was start of the worst possible way for Spurs. As after only 15 minutes they saw themselves 3-0 down to Liverpool goals from Jones, Diaz and Salah causing the pain. However, they weren’t done. In the 40-minute Kane would score to make it 3-1 and bring some hope back. However, when Son made it 3-2 in the 77th minute Spurs fans believed. Then finally in the 93rd minute it happened. Richarlison scored making it 3-3 and completing the comeback.

However, the curse would come back as after scoring the goal that would put the team’s level, he took off his shirt to celebrate, this time his goal would count, and he would finally have his first league goal for Spurs. But it only took a minute for the curse to take action as in the 94th minute Diogo Jota would break the hearts of Spurs fans as he pushed Liverpool back into the lead where they would ultimately win 4-3.

Does the curse really exist?

Well, there isn’t much too go off but like many people do in football there seems to be a level of superstition within the Spurs fan base that makes them worry every time they see the number 9’s shirt starts to be taken off. With today making it the third time that it has happened and something bad or unfortunate following it definitely looks like he is cursed.
