Spotify Wrapped: The 'Big 6' Premier League Edition

Well, On That Note: Each Top-Six Club's Most Listened-To Track

The Spotify Wrapped stats are out. A true highlight of the year. It's only right that we put a football-based spin on things to mark the occasion. Top Six fans are likely not to enjoy this one, so without further ado, here is The Football Park Spotify Wrapped (Premier League Edition).

Arsenal - Head in the Clouds

Some may call it cliché , but the number of headed goals Arsenal is scoring is getting pretty ridiculous . You don't even need to watch the highlights when seeing Mikel Merino on the scoresheet ; the Spaniard would've been a cheat code at Headers and Volleys back in the day (if you know, you know). The Gunners have thrived off set-piece opportunities to the point where rival fans are fed up with seeing their corner routines and the set-piece coach jump out of his seat. The absence of Gabriel has seen Mikel Arteta's side venture into the open-play goal technique in recent weeks, but that hasn't stopped his side from heading for glory.

Not that you need reminding , but this formula has worked pretty well for Arsenal so far this season. Top of the league, unbeaten in 12 consecutive Premier League matches. Forgive me for this one, but I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how Arsenal is going to go about bottling it this year. Injuries to the defensive unit in recent weeks have been amended without fuss ; long gone are the days of Carl Jenkinson and Pablo Mari waiting in the wings on the Arsenal substitute bench. A tough trip to Villa Park awaits the North London side, and we will see if Merino can be brought back down to earth or continue to lead the Gunners' charge.

Chelsea - Money for Nothing

Nothing like a bit of rattling on a Thursday morning. Chelsea fans will still be trying to recover from the woes of yesterday evening , so this is a perfect opportunity to rip into the side. You'd like to think that spending approximately €1.7 billion on transfers could afford you a competent centre-back, but I guess that is too much to ask for. All the money in the world would still not prevent the inevitable loss to a Leeds United side that had four consecutive league defeats coming into the game. A defensive mishap from Tosin Adarabioyo did not go down well with the Chelsea faithful and showcases concerns about the defensive options at the club.

Giving the Blues credit where it is due, not every club can call themselves World Champions. The excitement around the side ahead of the season was through the roof , with Moises Caicedo coming to life in a Chelsea shirt and Cole Palmer thriving on the big stage once again. Instead, Chelsea has suffered defeats to two of the newly promoted sides and have the most red cards in the Premier League. Money really can't buy happiness, after all.

Man United - Toxic

The United fanbase and Britney Spears clearly have a lot more in common than you'd first think. In fact, I think more people are paying attention to TheUnitedStrand than events happening on the pitch in recent times. Ruben Amorim has come under heavy scrutiny during his time with the club but has yet to be bullied out of playing a three-back to his credit. Optimism around the club has been the highest it has been for years ahead of this season ; the summer signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbuemo were real statements of intent. So I'm assuming the defeat to 10- man Everton at Old Trafford must've been some sort of mistake??

The Red Devils never fail to bring quality entertainment to our screens, mostly for rival fans. We will be sure to keep a close eye on the side for the remainder of the season, not failing to mention the best central midfielder in the league as he keeps the bench warm on the side.

Tottenham - Oops I Did it Again

On the topic of failing to live up to the hype, let me bring the Europa League holders into the conversation. With an exciting managerial appointment in Thomas Frank, and the signings of Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons, it was only right that Spurs fans had high hopes ahead of the season. If you fell into this trap, then you should be ashamed. No shots on target in the first half in four consecutive league matches has hardly gone down well in the Tottenham camp.

Frustrations have boiled over onto the pitch ; Pedro Porro and Lucas Bergvall were involved in an altercation after defeat to Fulham that saw the former storm down the tunnel. With so much seeming to go wrong at the club, it's only right that Spurs go and win the Champions League.

Liverpool - Free Fallin'

My Premier League predicted table is looking pretty ugly at the minute. Liverpool have looked as vulnerable as they ever have this season, with defensive mistake after defensive mistake, and now find themselves in eighth in the league table. Arne Slot has come under increased pressure in recent weeks to produce results, and I don't think a draw against Sunderland at Anfield is quite what the fans were after. Salah sitting on the bench, Wirtz still without a goal to his name (Nice try, Liverpool fans), it's hard to say what exactly is going wrong for Liverpool so far. Safe to say that rival fans have shown their sympathy in large quantities for the Premier League holders.

The Reds may have a different battle on their hands this season as hopes of defending the title look dead and buried. Instead, their fellow Merseyside rivals Everton would take great pleasure in finishing above them for the first time since the 2012-2013 season.

Man City - Rulebreakers

Manchester City must be the only side to commit over 100 financial breaches and get away with it. Better yet , they have managed to make everyone forget about it ever happening by providing quality entertainment on the pitch. Goals for, goals against, with Haaland being the quickest player ever to reach 100 Premier League goals, Pep Guardiola is truly a master at work

Manchester City finding out the outcome of their financial breach and the release of GTA VI, two things that are bound to never happen. If the points deduction rumors turn out to be true, then the title race between Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Sunderland could be one for the ages.
