We are into the final 16 of the World Cup. So, that means we can only do 1 thing, predict who is going through. We have missed the first 2 and therefore, we need to see who will be joining Morocco and France.

Portugal vs Spain

We start off this prediction with a spicy fixture. This is like splitting hairs. These are 2 sides whose midfields would dominate almost anyone else in the world. These 2 faced recently and Portugal made it out on top, can they do it again?

We don’t believe so. We think this will be the end for Ronaldo. The dream will finally be ended as Spain just have too much. Portugal haven’t look convincing all tournament and they don’t look like they will cause much of an issue for Spain.

They haven’t been able to get that midfield clicking at all and that will be what costs them. On paper a 10/10 midfield but they don’t look anything special. Therefore, Spain will go through.

USA vs Belgium

This is a game that was so close to be very different. Belgium is thanking their lucky stars that they have made it through after their stunning comeback. However, this is where it ends.

This isn’t the Belgium of past years and with the aging stars and lack of individual star power, they will more than likely see their World Cup ended.

The USA look like a very strong team. While they don’t have the typical superstar as a unit, they look very strong. That is what we believe will be the turning point for them.

Brazil vs Norway

Onto a game that we will find out the result for very soon. This will be an amazing game for the neutrals. These are 2 nations that have attacks that cause damage no matter what. Haaland vs Vini will be an amazing battle.

This might surprise some people, but we are backing the vikings to keep sailing forward. We think with the wind now in their sail Norway will be the side to go forward.

Brazil haven’t looked convincing so far this World Cup and one of the reasons is the defence. Considering Haaland won’t need many chances to score, we think Norway will take this victory.

England vs Mexico

This is possibly the hardest game to predict. On paper England should walk this game. They have the players and individual ability to take this in what should be comfortable. However, it won’t be an easy or pretty game.

Mexico has the home advantage. Home city, home stadium and a stadium that has a lot of benefits. One of those being the altitude and the fact they have an almost unbelievable record there.

With all this said, we are just backing England to edge it through. However, this wouldn’t be a shock of Mexico manage to take this victory.

Argentina vs Egypt

This is possibly the easiest to predict. While Egypt does have some stars, they lack the quality all-round the pitch. Therefore, we are backing Argentina to take a comfortable victory after their scare against Cape Verde.

Switzerland vs Colombia

This is the least talked about game but is possibly the most interesting game. These are 2 sides that have gone under the raider and could cause an upset in a later round. Both sides are let to lose a game and Colombia have only conceded 1 goal in the World Cup.

While Switzerland have been a strong side and caused issues on multiple occasions we are backing Colombia. With players like Diaz and Suarez they will have the attack to allow them to cause multiple issues.
