The Shining Youngsters: Football Park Under 23's Team Of The Weekend

After the latest weekend of exciting action, Football Park have decided to make our very own team of the weekend, from the best performers aged 23 and under across England's top four divisions.

GK - Radek Vitek (Bristol City)

The Manchester United loanee was part of a 3-0 home victory against Swansea City. It was the 6th clean sheet that the Czech international has kept in the Championship this season. He also made 5 saves in the game to help the Robins rise to 4th in the table.

RB - Nicolo Savona (Nottingham Forest)

Nottingham Forest were in dreamland on Saturday as they travelled to Anfield and achieved an emphatic 3-0 win. The Italian right-back impressed, scoring a goal and helping his side keep a clean sheet. He'll be looking to kick on now with further contributions over the busy festive period in his debut season in the Premier League.

CB - Mamadou Jobe (Cambridge United)

The young English defender helped his side keep a clean sheet as part of a back three, not putting a foot wrong all afternoon away against Barrow in League Two. The 22-year-old made 11 interceptions en route to a 2-0 victory.

CB - Harvey Araujo (Colchester United)

After a tough start to the season, there have been many positives for Colchester United, who have lost just 1 league game in their last 7 matches. At the heart of their new found success has been Harvey Araujo in central defence. He perfomed superbly in their win on the road against Notts County on Saturday.

LB - Ronan Kpakio (Cardiff City)

Whilst technically a right-back, we had to include Kpakio in this team after his fine display against Northampton. In the 3-1 away win in League One, the 18-year-old assisted two of the goals and demonstrated his fine potential.

CM - Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace)

We all know the quality of the 21-year-old, who made his England debut in June last year. He put in a performance that all football fans have come to expect in a convincing 2-0 away victory against the winless Wolves. He'll be hoping to remain injury free as the World Cup beckons for the youngster.

CM - Jack Hinshelwood (Brighton)

There were heroics off the bench from the youngster, who was able to snatch the winner for the Seagulls at the expense of Brentford. The promising Brighton midfielder will be hoping to stay fit after his excellent return to the team.

CM - Andrey Santos (Chelsea)

The Brazilian had huge shoes to fill in the absence of Moises Caicedo in the Chelsea midfield. The 21-year-old showed composure well beyond his years in the game against Burnley, not looking out of place at all whilst filling in for one of the best midfielders in the league.

RW - Reyes Cleary (Barnsley)

Another position debate, but Cleary is capable of playing on either flank. Yes, his display of a goal and two assists in a 5-0 rout of Luton came from the left, but we had to get him into the team somehow. At still just 21, the West Brom academy graduate is starting to flourish in South Yorkshire.

ST - Harrison Bettoni (Wigan)

With Wigan a goal down after 77 minutes, manager Ryan Lowe turned to 18-year-old Harrison Bettoni to get them out of jail. Bettoni did more than that on his League One debut by scoring with his first touch, an exquisitely placed free kick into the top corner. He'd then score the winner late on and claim all the plaudits, with plenty more to come from him.

LW - Jamie Gittens (Chelsea)

The talent that Jamie Gittens possesses has been known for a long time. We saw more than glimpses of that on Saturday against Burnley. The English star assisted the first goal for Pedro Neto with a well-measured cross to the far post. He's beginning to look at home in West London.
