The 2026 FIFA World Cup begins on Thursday, June 11th, 2026.
The opening match will take place at the iconic Estadio Azteca, with Mexico kicking off the tournament in front of a home crowd.
They will take on South Africa which is set to be nostalgic for us all, with it being a repeat of the World Cup opener in 2010!

The showpiece event will take place at MetLife Stadium, which FIFA is branding as New York/New Jersey for the tournament.
