Which Tottenham Players Are On The Way Out Next Summer?
The 2024/25 has been a campaign to forget for Spurs.
Having come into the season with a widely respected transfer window and aspirations of ending their 17 year trophy drought. Tottenham have instead found themselves in the bottom half of the table.
In this piece we will be taking a dive into the current state of Tottenham Hotspur and who may be on the chopping block heading into the summer transfer window.
After a slow start to his Tottenham career, it seemed as if Yves Bissouma had rediscovered the form he displayed while with Brighton & Hove Albion. The Mali international was ever-present in the heart of the Spurs midfield. With the ability to beat defenders with dribbling and close control, Bissouma had become a threat on the counter, being able to turn defence into attack.

However, a mixture of inconsistent performances and off the field issues has caused his position in the Tottenham team to waver as of late.
With 88 appearances across three seasons, Bissouma has been a solid signing for Spurs but with the emergence of Lucas Bergvall, Pape Sarr and Archie Gray, Ange Postecoglou may look to move on from the midfielder - who’s contract expires in 2026.
For similar reasons as Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur could be on his way out, having signed for the club in January 2022 for an undisclosed fee.
The Uruguayan midfielder has proven to be an important member of the Tottenham Hotspur team when available. However, injuries have caused him to miss large portions of the last couple seasons. Bentancur has missed a total of 55 games through injury since joining Spurs, including a cruciate ligament tear which kept the midfielder out for 255 days.

Having played just 16 games in the Premier League this season, his place in the side has also been under threat due to the likes of Bergvall, Sarr and Gray.
With a contract expiring in June 2026, Spurs will have a decision to make as to whether Bentancur will be at the club next season.
Richarlison’s time at Tottenham has been one of promise but also disappointment.
The signing of the Brazilian for a fee of £60 million divided the fanbase from the get go, but performances such as a brace against Marseille in the Champions League gave Spurs fans hope that the former Evertonian would be a hit in North London.
However, a spell of eight months without a Premier League accompanied with a long list of injuries has seen Richarlison have not much of an impact at Tottenham.
The striker has missed a total of 55 games in all competitions since joining Tottenham under Antonio Conte.
The frustration around Richarlison remains the same as Spurs have rarely had the chance to see the Brazilian in action for a significant period of time.
A streak of nine goals in eight Premier League games has been the highlight of Richarlison’s career in north London.

With a contract running until 2027 and rumoured interest from Saudi Arabia, Spurs will be considering their options regarding the Brazilian heading into the summer.
Brandon Austin’s case is one of an academy product making the most of their opportunity.
After nine years at the club, Austin was given his Tottenham debut against Newcastle in January 2025 - thanks to an injury to Vicario and illness ruling out Forster.
Having not played a competitive match since a loan spell with Orlando City in 2021, the expectations placed on the goalkeeper from fans were not very high. The 26 year old would raise eyebrows, winning Player of the Match against Newcastle.
Spurs goalkeeper Brandon Austin stepped up for his first-team debut against Newcastle due to injuries to Guglielmo Vicario and Fraser Forster.

He would follow up this performance with a clean sheet against Elfsborg in the Europa League and another impressive display against Hoffenheim.
So with such a successful start to his Spurs career, why could Austin potentially be on his way out? The signing of Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague.
Tottenham would sign Kinsky on January 5th for a fee of £12.5 million, handing the 21 year old a six-and-a-half year deal. Ange Postecoglou would name Kinsky the starter just days later, starting the Czech goalkeeper against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Kinsky would go on to make seven more appearances for Spurs until the return of number one Guglielmo Vicario, while Austin remained on the bench.
At the age of 26 years-old and impressive performances in his limited game time with Spurs, Austin and the club may feel it’s best for the academy product to find regular football elsewhere - having fallen down the pecking order.
With such a disastrous campaign, Spurs will be looking to put the 2024/25 season behind them. The summer of 2025 will be one of the most important windows in recent times for Ange Postecoglu’s side, so changes in personnel and recruitment are to be expected.
