Who Will Win the Title? Sheffield United vs Leeds United

It is time to lock in for the top two teams of the Championship table as Leeds United get set to make the journey to Bramall Lane with the hopes of extending their lead at the top of the table and ensuring their is no chance for Sheffield to catch them.

This is a highly anticipated fixture with both sides desperate for the win, yearning to secure themselves the top spot and give them heightened momentum as the season begins drawing to a close.

Leeds United: How To Dominate The Championship

It has been a Championship campaign to remember for Daniel Farke and his Leeds United side as German manager is hungry for his third Championship trophy. The Whites have been nothing short of remarkable this season, with only three losses from 33 games, no team has stood a chance all season long.

Daniel Farke has created a tremendous system of high pressing and possession based football which has been instrumental in maintaining their place at the top of the table. An attractive and effective style of football that has left opposing teams speechless as Farke’s side have ran riot this season.

Their attack has been formidable, netting 68 goals in the league so far with the closest team being a whopping 18 goals behind them. Leading the line has been Dutch striker Joel Piroe, racking up an impressive 14 goals from 33 appearances as he nestles into second place for the Golden Boot.

Israeli winger Manor Solomon is in doubt for this match with the winger missing out of Fridays training with hopes his fitness could be restored over the weekend. Collecting 14 goal contributions in the Championship so far this season, Farke is desperate to field the winger who has been so important to his success.

Sheffield United: The Blades On The Hunt

Breathing down their necks all season long has been Chris Wilders Sheffield United, who welcomed their former manager back with open arms back in December 2023. Having already won the Championship with this Sheffield side back in the 2016/2017 season, like his rival manager, Wilder is also hungry to fill another spot in his trophy cabinet.

Similar to Leeds United, Wilder has also adopted an aggressive style of play to ensure his side dominate the ball in the opposing half with intricate passing plays and piercing through balls to split defences open.

Gustavo Hamer has been paramount for Sheffield United this season, playing the pivotal role of ensuring inch perfect passes to create goalscoring opportunities. Paired with another former Coventry City boy, Callum O’Hare, the two midfielders have combined for 11 assists so far for Sheffield United. However, Gustavo Hamer remains in doubt due to fatigue but Chris Wilder is positive his star boy will make the field in such an important clash.

What To Expect

Both teams will come out the gate swinging, with both sides enforcing similar ball dominating tactics and an early goal will set the tone for this intense battle. While Leeds are the proven to be the better goalscoring side, Sheffield United have recorded more wins in the Championship than their counterpart.

Leeds United were the victors in the reverse fixture back in October, keeping a clean sheet in front of the home crowd and sending Sheffield United home empty handed.

The stage is set for the Yorkshire Derby and whether you are a fan or a neutral, this game is going to be fierce and a gruelling matchup with two sides eager not to put a foot wrong. Which manager is going to prove his side have the better composure and take victory in this must win game?
