With the Championship now halfway through its season, we can start to see players and managers who might make themselves early favourites for the end of season awards. However, one of them might already have an answer for that award and that is the manager of the season. As many people might be thinking, the favourite is Coventry’s Frank Lampard who has them sat at the top of the table 6 points clear at the top, however, it might not be as simple as that, and we could see another name take the award come the end of the season.
Who Might Take It?
Another name who might have made themselves one of the front runners is someone who might have not started well having only picked up their first win in their fifth match. However, since then they have got their team clicking and made them one of the best teams in the Championship.
This manager currently is in the dugout for the team that has both the second-best attack and defence in the league. They have scored 42 goals and conceded 24 goals, and this team is Ipswich with the manager being Kieran McKenna. Who has Ipswich sat in 3rd place at this time, however, this could definitely change by the end of the season.
While some people might have expected Ipswich to be doing better after getting relegated last season, if you have a look around the top 6 teams currently, they are the only relegation team who is currently in it and a lot of this is down to the ability of Kieran McKenna and how tactically able he is.

If Ipswich is able to push and cement themselves in one of those top 2 positions at the end of the season, he will definitely be one of the favourites for the award especially if they keep up their incredible defensive and offensive record this season.
Having already caused pain to Lampard and Coventry, can Kieran McKenna add a third and final bit of pain by winning the manager of the season award over Frank Lamprd?
