Will Crystal Palace Keep Hold Of Their Star Players This Summer?
Crystal Palace have had a steady and consistent Premier League campaign so far this season, sitting in 12th place with 39 points from 10 wins, 9 draws, and 9 losses. Notably, they secured a 1-0 away victory against Tottenham Hotspur on October 27, 2024, showcasing their ability to compete with top-tier teams. Another standout performance came on December 15, 2024, when they triumphed 3-1 away over Brighton & Hove Albion, highlighting their attacking prowess.
As the summer transfer window looms, Palace will once again face the challenge of holding on to their key players, with several standouts attracting interest from other clubs. In this article, we take a look at some of the players Palace fans will be hoping the club can retain for the upcoming season.
Crystal Palace have now won each of their last SIX away games without conceding a single goal:

Eberechi Eze has been one of the standout performers for Palace this season. In the FA Cup quarter-final against Fulham, Eze scored the opening goal and provided an assist, helping secure a 3-0 victory. Over the course of the season, the midfielder has contributed 6 goals and 9 assists in 31 appearances, demonstrating his value to the team.
Eze's impressive performances have caught the eye of several top clubs, with Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur reportedly interested in signing the England international. Eze’s release clause is believed to be around £60 million, and despite Steve Parish, Palace's chairman, expressing surprise at the lack of serious offers for Eze in the previous transfer window, Palace fans will be hoping they can fend off interest this summer.

Jean-Philippe Mateta has made a significant impact at Selhurst Park and has quickly become a fan favourite thanks to his high work ethic, passionate celebrations, and crucial goal contributions.
The French forward, who joined Palace in 2020, initially struggled to find his footing, often featuring as a substitute. However, over the past two seasons, he has rediscovered his form. In the 2023-24 season, Mateta made 35 appearances and scored 16 goals. This season, he has continued that impressive run, scoring 12 goals in 27 appearances.
Mateta’s rise has not gone unnoticed, with Manchester United, Barcelona, Lyon, Juventus, and AS Roma all reportedly interested in his services. His price tag is thought to be around £40 million, which could rise if he continues his excellent form. Under manager Oliver Glasner, Mateta has scored 10 goals in just 12 Premier League appearances, almost matching his total from the 79 games he played under Roy Hodgson and Patrick Vieira.

Since his arrival from Blackburn Rovers for £18 million on February 1, 2024, Adam Wharton has made an immediate impact in the Palace midfield. The 21-year-old has quickly adapted to the Premier League, showcasing his composure and technical ability in controlling the game’s tempo. Wharton was named in Gareth Southgate's training squad for the Euros last year and impressed in his debut for England, earning a place in the final 26-man squad.
With his performances continuing to attract attention, Real Madrid are reportedly monitoring his development, while Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool are all said to be interested in his signature. Palace will be hoping that their £100 million price tag will be enough to fend off potential suitors and keep Wharton at the club for the long term.

Marc Guéhi will once again be the subject of intense interest during the summer transfer window. Last season, Palace rejected multiple offers from Newcastle United, with the most recent bid reported to be £65 million. It seemed almost certain that Guéhi would leave, but Palace managed to hold on to their star defender.
Now, with the next transfer window fast approaching, Guéhi will be a key target for several clubs. Liverpool are reportedly preparing a bid of around £70 million, while Newcastle will likely renew their pursuit. Chelsea and Tottenham are also believed to be monitoring the defender’s situation. If Guéhi were to leave, his departure would leave a significant void in the heart of the Palace defense.

Another player Palace will be desperate to keep hold of is Daniel Muñoz, who joined the club from Atlético Nacional in January 2024 for £10 million. Known for his pace, technical ability, and strong defensive skills, Muñoz has made an immediate impact, contributing 5 goals and 6 assists this season.
With his impressive form, Muñoz has attracted interest from several top clubs, including Manchester City, who are looking for a replacement for Kyle Walker. Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Chelsea have also reportedly shown interest in the Colombian right-back. Palace’s release clause for Muñoz is said to be around £25 million, which in today’s market could be seen as a bargain for such a talented player.

Lastly, Tyrick Mitchell has been a consistent performer for Palace this season. The 25-year-old left-back has featured in 34 matches and has played just under 3,000 minutes in all competitions. His contributions, including 5 assists, have been crucial to Palace's defensive setup.
However, AC Milan is reportedly keeping tabs on Mitchell, as they search for a potential replacement for Theo Hernández, who may leave in the summer. Mitchell, who came through Palace’s academy and made his debut in July 2020, has since made 178 appearances for the club, contributing 3 goals and 12 assists. Palace will be keen to retain him as he continues to be a vital part of their defensive line.
