Where Did Wolverhampton Wanderers Finish Last Season?
Last season for Wolverhampton Wanderers was what you might describe as rather diabolical. At one point during the season there were questions as to whether they would become the worst Premier League side of all time possibly achieving less points than Derby County back in 2007/08.
However, they managed to achieve 20 points in the end but still ended bottom of the table and were therefore relegated to the EFL Championship for the upcoming 2026/27. Fans will certainly be hoping to see more than 3 wins in the Championship!

Who is Wolves’ Manager for the 2026/27 Season?

Following the rather controversial sacking of Rob Edwards shortly after the close of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign, Wolves decided to hire Portuguese manager Cesar Peixoto to try to get the club back to the top flight at the first time of asking.
Peixoto’s managerial career so far isn’t the best with not a great record at any of his clubs. Most recently, Peixoto was in charge at Portuguese side Gil Vicente where he finished in sixth position with a win percentage of just 35%. In order to gain promotion from the Championship, the new boss is going to need a much higher percentage than that!
Who is Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Player to Watch?
Andre
It is without a doubt that if Wolves are able to keep hold of Andre beyond the summer transfer window then he would be one of the best players in the whole of the division based on talent. The 25-year-old midfielder has 13 international caps for Brazil, which is certainly no mean feat! Although his partner Joao Gomes has departed the club, a midfield of Andre and Fer Lopez should definitely be good enough to compete at the top end of the second tier of English football.
Wolves 2026/27 Season Prediction
The common ground many neutrals have found when it comes to the Championship this season is the same top two in different flavours - Wolves and West Ham to get straight back into the Premier League.
Reason being, both sides have managed to retain the vast majority of their Premier League squads which, even though both clubs went down pretty miserably, are still a shot above the average second-tier side this season.
With Jimenez back, Trippier added and a new deal for Andre being a particularly choice big move, as well as keeping (as it stands) the likes of Ladislav Krejci, David Moller Wolfe, Mateus Mane and Jose Sa, it stands to reason that this term may be far more enjoyable for the men in Old Gold.
We can't see a situation, but for the most embarassing of collapses, that Wolves do not roar back into the top flight once again by the end of the term. The only question is how will they do it? For us, as runners-up - West Ham just seem stronger on paper, and have Jarrod bloody Bowen playing Championship football, which should violate some sort of footballing peace code.
