AC Milan Target Premier League Sweep

02/07/24 18:17

AC Milan are in talks to sign three Premier League players this summer. Those players are Tottenham’s Emerson Royal and Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku and Carney Chukwuemeka. New manager Paulo Fonseca will want these signings as early as possible so they can adjust to his style of play and push for a 20th Scudetto title.

Gianluca Di Marzio, Football Park rated tier one source has dropped the news of these talks. So far Milan are in strong talks with Tottenham over Royal where it is only discussions as of now with the Chelsea players.

Last season Emerson Royal played 22 games in the Premier League and managed to bag himself a goal in his opening match versus Brentford. The Brazilian wingback has averaged 2.79 tackles, 1.55 interceptions, 1.78 blocks and 3.88 per 90 minutes of football within the last 365 days. Despite online criticism, these number actually fair very well in comparison to other wing backs in the top five leagues.

AC Milan have been searching for a new full back as they were linked with Aston Villa’s Matty Cash early in the summer as Alessandro Florenzi could be swayed away from the club. Emerson Royal is leading that race.

Fans might not be too happy with the club though concerning the links with striker Romelu Lukaku, as a former player for AC Milan’s biggest rivals Inter. The Belgian is said to be on his way out of Chelsea as he does not fit into Enzo Maresca's plans.

Lukaku has been a force in Italy, scoring 70 goals and providing 21 assists in 129 games in Serie A over stints at Inter Milan and Roma. Lukaku might not be in the best form at the moment after a poor Euro 2024 campaign, but he has always found his stride and ended up being in the race for the golden boot in Italy, something AC Milan will value.

Having joined Chelsea in 2022 from Aston Villa, Carney Chukwuemeka could be leaving after two years at Stanford Bridge. Di Marzio has reported that it would be a loan move with AC Milan looking for squad depth with their current midfield having players that could potentially be an issue being injury prone.

He scored two goals this season, one of them being a crucial goal in the FA Cup to beat Leicester City. As he is so young, he has the potential to be a great player one day and this move could put him on the path to stardom.

With three new players set to come in, all eyes are on AC Milan to see who leaves because everyone will be fighting for their place in the team. At the end of the day only 11 players can start on pitch.
