After Walking Scotland to Germany, Craig Ferguson Tackles a 3,000-Mile U.S. Trek

In 2024, rising Scottish social media star Craig Ferguson walked from Scotland to Germany for men’s mental health, coinciding with Euro 2024. But ahead of the 2026 World Cup, he isn’t just taking one step further — he’s taking millions.

Ferguson has taken inspiration from The Proclaimers’ “500 Miles” and given it a whole new meaning — walking thousands of miles to raise awareness for men’s mental health.

Ferguson will trek roughly 3000 miles across the United States, from Los Angeles to Boston, in time for Scotland’s first World Cup game. He is partnering with Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH), with the ambitious goal of raising £1 million.

To put the scale of Ferguson’s journey into perspective:

• He will walk the equivalent of 120 consecutive marathons.
• Roughly four trips from Land’s End to John o’Groats.
• 46,000 football pitches end to end.
• And his journey is the same as laying out 21 million bottles of Irn Bru in a row!

In his announcement video Ferguson spoke on his motivation to take on the daunting challenge,

"It doesn't matter who you are or what you've been through.

"There is someone out there willing to over 3000 miles to prove to you, you are not in this alone."
