‘Agent Cucurella’ Trying to Convince Euro 2024 Star to Join Chelsea

05/07/24 10:00

Marc Cucurella has admitted he is trying to convince Nico Williams to join Chelsea.

Both players have stood out so far in this year's Euro 2024 tournament, as Spain head into the quarter-finals of the competition.

The 21-year-old, who racked up 27 goal contributions across all domestic competitions for Bilbao this season, has been linked profusely with Barcelona.

Speaking to Spanish media outlet, Sport, about Williams’ links to Barca Cucurella admitted:

“He would be a great signing.

“I’ve been telling him to sign for Chelsea. In the end everything depends on him. He is very young with a lot of experience. I think he will be a great player.”

Cucurella’s glowing review doesn’t come without performances to back it up, and Williams has clearly proven his value so far in the Euros. The winger has attempted one of the highest amounts of take ons per 90 minutes, compared to the other under-21 players at the tournament. He’s scored one goal and provided one assist so far in the competition.

Chelsea fans would be thrilled if Cucurella can convince the winger to join, but with Cole Palmer proving untouchable on the right wing and the club holding interest in James McAtee, a move for Williams seems unlikely.
