Ajax women come into this tie on fine form, but can they hold off Chelsea? Who seem destined for Champions League glory in the 2020s.

Ajax women vs Chelsea women's Champions League

Ajax progressed through to this quarter-final tie after finishing second in Group C on 10 points. Their 2-1 victory over Roma at the end of January was enough to see them past the Italian side and Bayern Munich.

The home side this week have never won the UEFA Champions League. The furthest they’ve ever made it in the competition is the round of 16 in 2019.

Chelsea topped group D despite facing some tough opposition in Hacken, Paris FC and Real Madrid. They won 4 out of their 6 group games.

The Blues have also never won the competition but have made it much further than Ajax. In 2021, they were heart-breakingly thrashed 4-0 by Barcelona in the final, only to lose 2-1 on aggregate the following year in the semi-finals.
