Al Ahli Have Had Enough of Former Liverpool Star

07/06/24 08:33

Reports this morning from Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, have stated that Al Ahli manager Matthias Jaislle would like the club to be open for offers for striker Roberto Firmino this summer.

Jaislle, who previously managed Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg, has been unsatisfied with Firmino’s recent performances, and would like his club to look for a new striker.

Firmino is currently contracted at the Saudi Pro League club until 2026, and only made the switch from Liverpool in the summer of 2023.

For the 2023/24 season, 32-year-old Firmino scored nine and assisted seven in all competitions. Al-Ahli ended up finishing third in that last season, which was their first league campaign in the Saudi top-flight since their promotion from the 2nd tier at the end of 2022/23.

Football Park rates Rudy Galetti a tier 2 journalist when it comes to reliability, out of a 5 tier ranking system.

Firmino has previously been linked to a move back to Premier League side Fulham back in January of 2024, after Al-Ahli’s immediate dissatisfaction with the player.
