Arsenal close in on Turkish left-back

16/05/24 16:39

It’s being reported that Arsenal have held contact with Ferdi Kadioglu, in their pursuit of a long term option at left-back.

According to Sacha Tavolieri, sources close to the player have confirmed that the Gunners have been discussing personal terms with Kadioglu. However, Arsenal and Fenerbahce have not made any movements in terms of agreeing a transfer fee.

The Turkish international has been a key player for Fener over the past four seasons, and played a role in their Turkish Cup win last year.

Kadioglu has proved his versatility since breaking into Fenerbahce’s XI, operating in most outfield positions when needed. Now primarily a left sided full back, he’s also comfortable on either wing or the other side of defence.

As Arsenal look to continue challenging for Premier League titles, and with the injury woes of Jurrien Timber, they may be looking to sign Kadioglu to improve their quality and depth all over the field.
