Discussions ongoing at both clubs over whether to go back in with improved offer. Smith Rowe wants to assess all options – regular first team football is primary motivation. #AFC #FFC #CPFC
Both clubs have had long standing interest in the player, who has lost his starting role for the Gunners over the past few seasons. Fulham are looking to replace Willian, who turned down a new contract with The Cottagers; while Palace are trying to replace Michael Olise who has moved to Bayern Munich.
It’s thought that both bids were in a hopeful region of £25 million, while Arsenal are hoping to receive around £35 million for the midfielder. Smith-Rowe is highly rated by The Gunners, who handed him the number ten shirt when Ozil departed, but a series of injuries has kept him out of the starting line-up.
The 23-year-old scored 11 goals across the 2020/21 season, but hasn’t scored for Arsenal since.
Fabrizio Romano, a tier one source, has also jumped in on the action. He’s reporting that Fulham are considering a new bid for Smith-Rowe, who is one of Marco Silva’s key targets, and are prepared to invest a chunk of the money they received for Joao Palhinha.
