Ethan Nwaneri Set For Dortmund Loan Switch After Arriving For Medical

In a busy day of outgoings for Arsenal, Ethan Nwaneri looks set to leave Emirates Stadium on a temporary basis as he looks set for a loan move to German giants Borussia Dortmund.

Nwaneri became the youngest player in Premier League history when coming off the bench away at Brentford in 2022at 15 years and 181 days old, before becoming a key player in the first team during the 2024/25 season following an attacking injury crisis which saw the then 18 year-old Nwaneri make 37 appearences in all compeitions, scoring nine goals.

However, a lack of game time in the 2025/26 season saw a January loan move to Olympique Marsielle occur, with Mikel Arteta keen for Nwaneri to work with Roberto de Zerbi in France, and Nwaneri initslly perfomed under the Italian. However, de Zerbi soon left Marsielle after the club exitied the UEFA Champions League, with Nwaneri then finding minutes limited in Southern France.

The arrival of Bruno Guiamres to add to Arsenal's midfield options would see Nwaneri's gametime chances further limited at Arsenal, with the 19 year-old set to join Borussia Dortmund on loan after Greek International Giannis Konstantelias suffered an ACL injury. The German giants agreeing a straight loan for Nwaneri who will spent the season in West Germany subject to a successful medical, with the English youngster in Dortmund to finalise the move.
