Aston Villa May Need To Sell Star Man to Avoid Financial Fair Play Rule Breaks

Douglas Luiz has been a phenomenal player under Unai Emery but the club will have to sell some of their most profitable players in order to stay within PSR (Payment System Regulator).

Fans will be upset that he is going to have to leave but Transfermarkt has valued the Brazilian at €70 million, allowing the club to use that money on replacements that suit the level that Villa are playing at.

To avoid punishment, Aston Villa must part ways with Luiz by June 30th.

Juventus are the club leading the race for his signature, offering a proposal of €30 million plus a former Premier League player in Weston McKennie.

The American has been fundamental for the Old Lady garnering seven assists in the Serie A this season so should transition smoothly into this Villa side.

Italian football expert Daniele Longo, rated tier 2 for being a reliable source in the Football Park system, confirmed that Juventus technical director, Cristiano Giuntoli and Aston Villa Managing Director Professional Football, Monchi met up in Milan last week to discuss the possibility of this deal.

With Ross Barkley also set to join the Birmingham based club, the midfield looks like it can survive the departure of Douglas Luiz, but seeing a fan favourite leave the club is always tough.
