Aston Villa Tempted by Bid for AC Milan Star After Kamara Injury News

Villains Set for Milan Raid After Injury for Boubacar Kamara

Aston Villa are interested in making a move for AC Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek after a season-ending injury was suffered by star midfielder Boubacar Kamara, according to transfer specialist John Percy.

The 29-year-old has been on the fringes of the Rossoneri squad this season after playing a starring role in his maiden campaign, and reports have stated that the former Chelsea midfielder is up for sale from the San Siro this winter with Manchester United and Brentford also interested in his signature.

However, despite the fellow interest, it is Aston Villa who are perceived as being most interested in the England international after the injury problems of Kamara.

Villa Tempted by Loftus-Cheek Move

Boubacar Kamara is certainly a hard man to replace.

Whilst not neccesarily the most eye-catching of players when it comes to numbers or aesthetics, the Frenchman possesses a grace and tenacity as well as a defensive midfielder that acts very much as the 'glue' of Unai Emery's side. Replacing him is not a simple task, especially with Amadou Onana having fitness issues of his own.

Aston Villa have been busy this winter, however, and are looking into a move for former Chelsea starlet Ruben Loftus-Cheek from AC Milan before the window closes late next week, whilst juggling a move for former Villain Tammy Abraham to lead the line, too.

It is unclear, at this time, whether or not the 'Lewisham Ballack' will move temporarily or on a permanent basis.

Loftus-Cheek Tipped for Premier League Return

Much was made of the prospects of Ruben Loftus-Cheek when first breaking through as a youngster.

His most promising days were on display seven years ago as a 22-year-old, playing an integral part of Maurizio Sarri's Europa League-winning Chelsea side. However, he never made it to the final personally, after a horror injury suffered in a mid-season friendly stole the next 14 years of his career from him.

Nine more Premier League appearances came in the COVID-struck 19/20 season, before an underwhelming season spent getting relegated with Fulham whilst his parent club won the Champions League. He would be a regular appearance-maker for the Blues over the next two seasons, though never hit the heights initially laid out for him, before making the move to Milan in 2023 amidst their heavy clear-out of the summer.

He played a starring role at the San Siro in his maiden campaign, scoring 10 in all competitions, but a poor cocktail of injury issues and a lack of form has seen him halted to just eight Serie A starts this term.

As such, his name has been circulated as available, and Aston Villa are interested in taking that opportunity for themselves.
