Aubameyang To Link Up With Nacho In The Saudi Pro League

Olympique Marseille’s top scorer last season, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has announced that he will be leaving the club to join Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah.

It has been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, tier one Football Park rated source in terms of reliability, that Aubameyang will join up with former Real Madrid captain Nacho Fernandez at Al Qadsiah on a two year deal.

The Gabonese striker scored 30 goals and recorded 11 assists across all competitions for Marseille last year, 10 of those goals coming in a tremendous UEFA Europa League campaign, seeing the French team reaching the Semi-Finals before ultimately being knocked out by eventual winners Atalanta.

He outweighed second highest Marseille scorer centre back Chancel Mbemba by 24 goals, a clear sign that he will be sorely missed for next season with the majority of Marseille’s goalscoring opportunities coming from him.

Aubameyang originally joined Marseille on a free transfer after an extremely disappointing stint at London based side Chelsea and now he will leave the same way he arrived.

Al Qadsiah are back in the Saudi Pro League for the first time since being relegated in the 2020/21 season and strengthening their side with a prolific goalscorer like Aubameyang and experienced centre back Nacho is a great strategy in their attempts to stay up this year.

With notorious goalscorers in the league; the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane and Neymar Jr, Aubameyang will face a tough challenge in trying to become the Golden Boot winner but you can’t count him out just yet.
