Bayern Planning Shock Move For 27 Year Old Arsenal Star

01/06/24 10:30

It’s only been a few days since Kompany took charge at Bayern and he’s already at work.

According to reports, the Bavarians are planning a shocking swoop for Arsenal left back Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The manager knows him from his time at Manchester City and would like to have him at the club, should Alphonso Davies leave this summer.

The Ukrainian finds himself down in the pecking order at the Emirates, behind Jakub Kiwior and Takehiro Tomiyasu, and would thus jump at the chance to join Bayern.

He would fit in well into style of play that Kompany wants to implement. Arsenal would also be willing to sell him, should they be able to recover the £35m they invested in him in 2022.

However, there are no concrete talks as of today because Alphonso Davies’ future still remains uncertain. It seems like there have been positive developments regarding his future at the club in the last few days because Kompany prioritises keeping Davies ahead of signing anyone.

Bayern are also monitoring other targets in case a potential bid for Zinchenko fails. Milan’s Theo Hernandez is heavily linked with the club but his price tag might be a potential hurdle. The Italian club would looking for a fee in excess of £70m and Bayern may not be willing to pay that.
