Bayern Resume Hunt for Premier League Ace

Tier one source Florian Plettenberg has reported that Bayern are sent to continue their hunt for Joao Palhinha this summer.

Palhinha came close to a move to Bayern last August, but the move fell through when Fulham failed to sign a replacement in time. Despite that, Palhinha signed a new deal at Craven Cottage that expires in 2028.

Bayern have not been put off by his extended deal, and are looking to negotiate below the €60 million fee reported last summer.

At age 29, Fulham may agree a deal with Bayern for Palhinha, and look to invest in a new long-term option in midfield. However, given how vital Palhinha has been for Fulham as they establish themselves once more as a Premier League club, they might want more than the €40 million fee already reported.

Palhinha has expressed his interest in joining Bayern Munich, who have made him their number one target for the window, and has already agreed personal terms with the Bavarian giants.

Bayern went trophyless last season for the first time in over ten years, and they are looking to make wholesale changes to their squad to ensure it doesn’t happen again under new head coach Vincent Kompany.

Plettenberg has also reported that Bayern would be willing to allow players like Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich to move on from the Allianz, should the right offer come in.
