Celtic look close to bringing a centre-back this deadline day with the arrival of Benjamin Arthur on loan from Brentford, according to Richmond and Twickenham Times.
Discussions between Brentford and Celtic are still ongoing but a move is seemingly likely to go ahead. If a deal does go through it will be a straight loan move for the 20-year-old, with no obligation for the Scottish Premiership champions to sign the defender at the end of his spell.
Arthur currently finds himself behind the likes of Nathan Collins, Kristoffer Ajer and Sepp van den Berg in Brentford's pecking order.
If a deal could be struck it could also beneficial for Motherwell as they look to re-sign Stephen Welsh on loan from Celtic.
Welsh made 17 appearances for the Steelmen during the first half of the season but was recalled by Celtic and made a subsitute appearance at the weekend v Falkirk.
