Ben Brereton Díaz Makes His Way Back To The Premier League

30/07/24 15:04

Ben Brereton Díaz has found his way back to the Premier League for the 2024/25 season.

Sky Sports UK, tier one Football Park ranked source, have reported that recently promoted side Southampton, have purchased the Chilean’s services for a fee of around £7 million with the contract being valid four years.

Brereton Díaz spent last season on loan Sheffield United after arriving in the January transfer window. In the 14 games that he played for The Blades, he netted 6 goals and 1 assist. He wasn’t performing well at his parent club Villarreal, so he was sent away mid season. The fee that they will receive will just about cover the total fees they have spent on him. Villarreal bought him for €16 million, received a €7 million loan fee from Sheffield and now they have a £7 million permanent transfer fee.

Díaz has relished in England so with a full season under his belt he could be a vital part of keeping The Saints afloat and remain in the Premier League.
