Blackburn are one of several clubs interested in Sunderland midfielder Alan Browne, according to Alan Nixon.
The former Preston captain is said to be on the move this summer, with a host of Championship clubs circling for the Irishman's services.
Racking up over 350 appearances in his time at Deepdale, it is easy to see why there is no shortage of interest in the midfielder. An experienced and versatile option, Browne would represent a quality addition to most Championship sides.

One of the clubs said to be in the mix for his signature are Blackburn Rovers, who look set to continue their busy summer with further additions to their squad.
After losing captain Lewis Travis to Derby County, manager Valérien Ismaël will be on the look out for Championship experience to replace the out-going midfielder.
Browne fits the bill perfectly. Promoted to England's second tier in 2015 with Preston through the play-offs, the 30 year-old was ever-present in the Preston starting eleven up until his move to Sunderland last season.
Following his move to the Stadium of Light in the summer of 2024, Browne made 23 appearances for Sunderland last time out.
Part of the squad which achieved promotion to the Premier League, the midfielder now looks to be moving on from the Black Cats despite only being at the club for a season.
With a return to Lancashire now potentially on the cards for the Irishman, Browne will be in search for increased playing time for the campaign ahead.
