A familiar face is poised for Tynecastle as Birmingham City midfielder Marc Leonard looks set to join Hearts on loan until the end of the season.

Hearts Standard are reporting that the 24-year-old, who has played 15 times for the Blues in the Sky Bet Championship this season, is a close to re-joining the club that he left eight years ago. Despite making 17 appearances in all competitions for Chris Davies' side this season, Leonard has fallen down the pecking order at St. Andrews and is in need of regular first team football.
Hearts are in need of midfield cover with injuries to Cammy Devlin and Beni Baningime in recent weeks with both Oisin McEntee and Ageu still working their way back from their injury spells.
Leonard has impressed Chris Davies over his time with Birmingham so much so that he was talking up his chances of a potential callup to Steve Clarke's Scotland side back in October. A successful spell at Tynecastle could boost his chances of a late break in to the squad ahead of this summer's World Cup.
After four years with the club as a youngster, Leonard went on to sign for Brighton and Hove Albion in 2021 and had successful loans at Northampton before signing for Birmingham in the summer of 2024, whilst the club were in League One.
