Talks now ongoing between AC Milan and Zirkzee’s camp to agree on personal terms, crucial point.

Zirkzee joined Bologna from Bayern Munich at the start of the 22/23 season. In his first season for i Rossoblu he only managed two goals and two assists in all competitions, with his minutes being limited. This campaign he has looked far more promising, scoring 12 goals and providing seven assists across all competitions.
The Dutchman’s release clause, valid for any team who wished to pay it, was revealed by Moretto to have been around €40 million. Milan were the first team to inform Bologna they had intention to pay it.
While this may seem like an overpay for a 23-year-old with only one good season under his belt, I think when you break it down it’s actually decent value. This is Zirkzee’s first full season in one of Europe’s top five leagues, and he’s smashed it.
With Zirkzee it’s not all about numbers, his link-up play and the chances he creates for teammates are sometimes worth more than goals. He has all the right tells of a top class striker, and if he’s given the play time at the San Siro, I think he’ll prove his worth.
It’s now all down to the Rossoneri to agree terms with Zirkzee, but that isn’t expected to be a problem. The former Bayern Munich man is keen to stay in Italy.
Arsenal have previously been linked with Zirkzee, as they seem to be with every striker, but it appears Milan have won this race.
