Bournemouth announce major contract extension

It was announced today that Bournemouth boss, Andoni Iraola, has signed a contract extension that will see him stay at the club until at least the end of the 2025/26 season.

Bournemouth fans have been waiting for the news since the Spaniard led the club to their highest points tally in their history, following a 3-0 win over Brighton last month. Iraola hinted at a possible extension after Saturday’s game against Brentford.

Cherries’ owner and chairman Bill Foley shared his thoughts on Iraola and his contract extension:

“Andoni has made a huge impact since arriving at the club and we are thrilled to agree to this extension.

“We have achieved a club-record points tally in the Premier League thanks to a series of excellent performances and results from the team.

“The players have clearly bought into his footballing philosophy and our supporters have really taken to him. We look forward to continuing to work with him.”

Since a shaky start to the season, Iraola has won 12 of the last 26 games, earning more points than Newcastle, Tottenham and Manchester United since the beginning of November.
