Bournemouth Release Home and Away Kits for 2024/25
Over the last week Bournemouth have released both their home and away kits for the upcoming Premier League season. They were one of the last teams to do so, as the season starts in two weeks time.
They have already played two friendlies in this preseason, against Wrexham and Arsenal, but played in their special edition kits designed by co-owner and actor Michael B. Jordan. Their last two games in preseason, against Girona and Rayo Vallecano, will also feature Jordan’s two kits.
Their home kit is inspired by their 2014/15 kit, in which they won promotion to the English top flight for the first time in their history. It features their iconic red and black stripes and a gold pinstripe. The kit’s launch video heavily included full-back Adam Smith, who is the only player who featured in the 2014/15 season and is still playing at the club. Tommy Elphick, who is a coach at the club, and club legend Marc Pugh also feature in the video. Pugh scored a memorable goal against Bolton in the penultimate game that season which helped clinch their promotion.

In the club’s first home game of the season, they will be wearing a special edition of the new home kit, which features a slightly different club crest which will commemorate both a decade since their historic promotion, and 125 years since the club was first founded in 1899.
The away kit also has some inspiration from an old Cherries kit. The shirt is mainly white, with purple and sea green patterns on the front. A similar kit was released in the 90s and was initially unpopular with the supporters, but it has since become a staple and fan favourite amongst Bournemouth supporters. The sleeves and collar have a purple trim that complete the kit nicely.

Bournemouth fans have been very complimentary about the kits as a whole except for one aspect of them. The sponsor of the kit is BJ88, an online betting company, and the logo looks very out of place on both kits. The sponsorship deal is reportedly the biggest the club has ever managed, and it ties them over for two seasons, after which betting sponsors will no longer be allowed by the Premier League.
