Brighton And Chelsea Tussle Over Leicester Star
Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly both interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, according to Fabrizio Romano, who Football Park ranks as a tier one source.
The Seagulls have already agreed a swap deal for the 25-year-old which would see Jakub Moder return the other way alongside a £25 million fee.
Both Moder and Dewsbury-Hall have travelled for their medical tests ahead of a potential move.
However, Romano reports that former Foxes boss Enzo Maresca also wants to bring Dewsbury-Hall with him to Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Blues have called Leicester over a potential deal and are deciding whether to put in a bid for the player.
Chelsea believe that if the 2016 Premier League winners are forced to sell players due to Financial Fair Play rulings this summer, Dewsbury-Hall would be a concrete opportunity and fit their style of play perfectly.

Who is Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall?
The English midfielder enjoyed the best season of his career in 2023/24. The 25-year-old played in the centre of midfield for the Foxes, contributing to 26 league goals as Leicester returned to the Premier League at the first time of asking. As a result of his fine form, Dewsbury-Hall was one of two Leicester players named in the Championship Team of the Season and was also nominated for the league’s Player of the Season award.

However, the Englishman has been on a long road to get to where he is today. After playing for the Foxes’ under-23s side for four seasons, the midfielder was immediately sent out on loan to League One side Blackpool. In his six-month stint at the club, Dewsbury-Hall played only ten games, however scored a respectable four goals. His loan spell in the north-east was followed by a season at Championship side Luton Town in 2020/21.
It was for the Hatters that Dewsbury-Hall had his first taste of weekly first-team football. The midfielder played 39 league games and contributed to nine goals as Luton finished the season in 12th place.
Upon return, Dewsbury-Hall was finally granted a chance in the Foxes first team, and he hasn’t looked back since. Leicester’s number 22 has played 127 games in the past three years, featuring in the Premier League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League.
The Englishman has become an integral part of the Foxes team, and it is likely to require big money to lure him away from Leicestershire this summer.
