Brighton Set To Sign Another South American Talent

27/06/24 13:02

Brighton have a knack for finding South American gems and turning over a massive profit from their eventual departure. This could be no different as they are interested in the signing of Paraguayan midfielder Diego Gómez.

Gómez currently plays in the MLS with Inter Miami alongside the world greatest player in Lionel Messi and more former Barcelona alumni. He has caught the attention of the scouting team of Brighton, a team who have made great progression year in year out to recently being involved in the UEFA Europa League, having been in the Premier League since 17/18.

Football Park ranked tier three source, talksport, have been the ones to break this story. They believe that Inter Miami are asking for a price around the £15 million mark, with Transfermarkt valuing the Paraguayan at €8 million.

New Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler, the youngest full time manager in Premier League history, will be keen to add him to his squad. He gets the best out of his players and displays exciting football that the fans should thoroughly enjoy watching, Gómez hopefully being no different.

The centre midfielder has played nine games in the MLS this season and score twice alongside two assists as well. He is currently out injured with an ankle injury and his return date is unknown, but when he does return, he should be a valuable player for Brighton.

Brighton are also reigniting their interest in Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. The pair of them could help the seaside club reach the European places again with them controlling the middle of the park.

Everything looks set to happen and it should only be a matter of time until all the paperwork is complete. With Moises Caicedo, Alexis Mac Allister, Pervis Estupinian, Julio Enciso and Facundo Buonanotte just some of the fellow South American talent they have had over the years, they look to have secured another gem.
