Bromley Nearing Majority Takeover Following Stunning Promotion

Football Park has been informed that League Two champions Bromley are allegedly nearing a majority takeover of the club following their promotion from England’s fourth tier, with the club currently doing their legal due diligence in the long and arduous process, according to an anonymous source.

Current owner, majority shareholder and chairman, Bromley-born Robin Stanton-Gleaves, has overseen operations at the club since purchasing his hometown team in 2019, and under his ownership, the club has reached new highs, winning a playoff final at Wembley, breaking into the EFL for the first time in their history, and most recently lifting the League Two trophy on the final day of the season.

However, their recent success and unabated progress through the English football pyramid appear to have attracted some interested parties who can smell an opportunity. Though any potential groups remain nameless, our source has confirmed that the club has reportedly held talks and that an agreement is close with the mystery buyers.

On the Up and Up

Currently valued at less than £20 million despite their recent promotion, any prospective owners will be desperate to make the most of the opportunity to buy shares in the outfit while they are still relatively cheap.

Should their sharp upward trajectory continue over the next couple of seasons, these shares will swell rapidly in value, and those willing to invest in the team now will be well rewarded in as little as two to three years if the same level of progress is maintained.

However, any potential new owners will have big shoes to fill – Stanton-Gleaves has been a big believer in visible ownership throughout his spell at the club, frequently communicating his goals and objectives for the club at regular intervals, and his everyday involvement has seen the community come together in support of the club. If he is to be brought out of the club, the new owners will need to continue in the same vein if they are to keep the fans onside.

The last time Bromley experienced movement in the upper hierarchy of the club was in December of 2024, when American businessman Anthony Serafino acquired a minority shareholding in the club midway through their debut League Two campaign.

The potential takeover comes at an exciting crossroads for Bromley – needing some extra financial power in order to compete in League One next season, a majority takeover offer has come at just the right time. A new face at the helm means new ideas and new goals, and many will also be hoping for an influx in cash considering the circumstances at the club and at the time of the offer.

Having never previously ventured above League Two in their 134-year history as a club, the Ravens will break new ground next season after topping the fourth tier by a single point.

Regardless of where they finish next season, manager Andy Woodman will want to receive the same backing from any potential new owners as he has done from Stanton-Gleaves since joining the club in 2021. The pair have shown that transparency between manager and board is a recipe for success, and if the reports of new owners prove to be true, the Woodman will be hoping for an equally close relationship with his would-be successors.

Though Stanton-Gleaves has led the club to extraordinary new heights during his seven years in charge, new blood could be exactly what the Ravens need in order to take another step closer to the top of the English football pyramid.
