Bruno Fernandes set for Manchester United exit?

03/06/24 14:22

Bruno Fernandes could be set to depart Old Trafford this summer, with major clubs interested in acquiring his services.

Bayern Munich appear to have the most concrete interest, reports from Portugal suggest that they have already made contact with one of Fernandes’ representatives.

Bruno has been a key player for Manchester United since signing from Sporting back in 2020, and has been appointed club captain for his efforts. A huge fee would likely be required for the Red Devils to accept.

Bayern also face competition in the battle for Fernandes’ signature, with Barcelona and Al-Nassr interested in signing the midfielder. Al-Nassr are keen to build a squad to compete with Al-Hilal, and the idea of linking up with Cristiano Ronaldo once more may entice Fernandes.

The idea of a player like Fernandes heading to Saudi Arabia in his prime once seemed unlikely, but since their recent focus on recruiting high profile players anything is possible.

Bruno will be fully focused on the Euros this summer, so it’s likely nothing will progress until after the competition is over.
