Fabrizio Romano, a tier one rated Football Park source, has confirmed that everything is set to go ahead with this great bit of business for the capital based club. The fee will cost Roma €26 million, with up to around €4 million in add-ons, plus a 10% sell on fee if Soulé does end up leaving.
This is a terrific signing for AS Roma as Soulé is someone with incredible potential and with be able to work alongside fellow Argentinian Paulo Dybala, who he will one day replace if he stays at the club long enough.
Soulé went on loan at Frosinone last season and even at the age of 21, it was clear to see that he was their best player. During his time there, he went onto score 11 times, becoming Frosinone’s top scorer that season and recorded 3 assists. It truly was a breakout campaign for him.
The young winger has some excellent traits, for example averaging 5.42 shot creating actions and 2.94 successful take-ons per 90 minutes over the last 365 days. He will need to work on other aspects of his game if he wants to cement himself into that first team but at the rate he is progressing.
Roma manager Daniele De Rossi and President Dan Friedkin were both keen on the signature of the youngster. The pair of them and the rest of the staff, have the potential to mould Soulé into one of the best in the world in the upcoming years because I feel he can be something special.
His impact in a Serie A title charge might not be instant but this move could help speed things up very quickly. Roma have now got a fine collection of attack minded players sprinkled with experienced defensive options and a promising goalkeeper; they have all the credentials to do it.
A friendly reminder that Bayern Leverkusen went from 6th to champions after one season with the help of a few signings.
