After a fantastic start to the League One season, Cardiff City are set to bolster their defence with former Luton Town man Gabriel Osho. The Nigerian international moved to French outlet AJ Auxerre in the 2024 season after 4 years with The Hatters, and now Cardiff City are looking to add some experience into the backline, as per the Football League World. Gabriel Osho primarily plays as a centre back but can also play as a right back. Osho boasts a journeyman career in English football, beginning his career in the National League, and going on to make 21 appearances for Luton in the Premier League in the 2023/2024 season. His reliability saw him move to France for the 2024/2025 season, where he has made a total of 23 appearances for Ligue 1 outlet AJ Auxerre.
After finishing bottom of the Championship last season, the Bluebirds turned to Ireland's Brian Barry-Murphy to lead a revival. This summer, three departures have been offset by five new arrivals thus far, as Cardiff look to rebuild and mount an immediate push back up.

As noted, Osho is a seasoned Football League campaigner whose defensive versatility makes him a prized asset for any side. Playing under Barry-Murphy while at Rochdale, the pair already have a strong working relationship and the player will be aware of the manager's demands and style of play.
Having made his Nigeria debut in November 2024, the 27-year-old brings invaluable experience to the Bluebirds' backline. Lining up alongside exciting young prospects and ex-Arsenal and Fulham stalwart Calum Chambers, Cardiff City fans can expect a disciplined, rock-solid defence this season.
