Gineitis has been Celtic's main target throughout the summer, with the Bhoys having been chasing the midfielder for much of the transfer window. It now looks like Martin O'Neil could finally be getting his man.
The 22-year-old has become a pivotal part of the Torino squad since joining the club in 2022, making 76 appearances since becoming part of the first-team setup in 2023. Gineitis has continued to develop during his time in Serie A, and O'Neil will be hoping the midfielder can carry his form over to Glasgow.
How Will Gineitis Improve Celtic?
Gineitis is being brought in with the difficult task of helping replace recently departed former Celtic midfielder Arne Engels, who had become a stalwart in the Celtic midfield.
Replacing a player like Engles who had established himself as such an important part of the team was never going to be easy, but Gineitis could bring a different style and plenty of energy to the midfield.
At just 22, the Lithuanian also has plenty of room to develop, meaning Celtic could see him become an important player for years to come rather than being a short-term replacement.
Celtic have dominated Scottish football in recent years, winning five Scottish Premiership titles in a row, and they will be hoping that Gineitis can help them continue that dominance as they look to secure a sixth consecutive championship.
If the transition to Scottish football goes smoothly, Gineitis could quickly become another key part of the Celtic midfield and help the Bhoys maintain the dynasty they have created.
