St Johnstone’s Josh McPake has agreed a shock-move to Hearts on a pre-contract according to Eric Nicolson at The Courier.
McPake will give Hearts much-needed depth as they prepare for European football next season bar an astounding collapse. The 24-year-old has 12 goals and an assist in just 17 games Championship games this season, earning Player Of The Month for August and September.

The ex-Rangers youth player struggled to get game time at Ibrox, being loaned to Harrogate Town, Morecambe, and Tranmere Rovers. His last loan was to Queen’s Park before being released in the summer of 2023. The winger then joined League One Stirling Albion, impressing and earning a move to St Johnston after being scouted by manager Craig Levein on a number of occasions.
This season, McPake has been electric and undoubtedly one of the best players in the league, which will have caught the attention of many, including Derek McInnes. It will now be interesting to see if St Johnston look to cash in while they can and sell to Hearts in January or hope his performances can guide them to promotion back to the Premiership.
