Newly-promoted Serie A side Cremonese are the next team to have made an approach for free agent Jamie Vardy following his departure from Leicester this summer, according to Sky Sports Italy.
Vardy, without a club at the moment, has not been short of offers since the expiry of his contract with the Foxes and the Italian top flight newbies are rumoured to be the next team putting their name in the mix for his signature.
Scoring 200 times in his 13-year stint at the King Power Stadium, Vardy established himself as a Leicester City legend. Winning the Premier League and FA Cup in his time there, Vardy and the Foxes enjoyed incredible success together - a relationship that once saw Vardy become one of the most sought-after strikers in the country.
Cremonese began their campaign with a brilliant 2-1 win against giants AC Milan on the opening day. With a task reminiscent of many of Leicester's Premier League campaigns, the underdog similarities of Cremonese are there for all to see as they face a real battle to preserve their Serie A status this season.

Having experienced the many highs and lows of English football, Cremonese represent an intriguing alternative for the next step of Vardy's career. Promoted last year through the play-offs, the club from Northern Italy made their return to Italy's footballing elite after being relegated in 2023.
If they were able to secure the services of Vardy, it would ultimately represent a statement signing for the Italian minnows in their efforts to avoid relegation this campaign.
The sheer amount of interest in Vardy is indicative alone of quality the Englishman still has to give. With English top flight interest reported earlier on this summer, Vardy has not been short of offers for a return to competitive football.
Registering 10 goals in all competitions last season, in a struggling Foxes team, Vardy continued to maintain his incredibly impressive goal-scoring record despite his team's relegation.
Jamie Vardy, FOOTBALL legend, I could genuinely cry, 20 goals this season, on commentary they mentioned he’s the only player still at Leicester from their 2014 Championship win he’s really been there through it all and seen absolutely everything, what a way to go out pic.twitter.com/MAsQOd1jup

Famously breaking the record set by Ruud van Nistelrooj, scoring in 11 consecutive Premier League games, Vardy's remarkable career saw him go from non-league to one of English football's biggest names. Now at the age of 38, he must decide on whether to continue in England or to pursue the opportunity of Italian football, like so many of his fellow countrymen have done in recent times.
