Crystal Palace Set Their Sights on Everton Forward

Crystal Palace are set to bid for Everton's Dwight McNeil as they look to bring in reinforcements before the deadline.

The Eagles have had a busy deadline day so far but have failed to get any deals over the line.

They've been eyeing up numerous incomings and the back and were looking at Wolves striker Strand-Larsen before the Mateta deal fell through. Dwight McNeil is next on the clubs list and are looking at a reported £20 million fee.

McNeil to Palace

Dwight McNeil is a name almost every Premier League fan knows, scoring Worldies once a season and popping up with the occasional brace.

But this deal seems bizzare for Palace. They have already brought in Guessand and Johnson this window and the return of Sarr from AFCON.

£20 million is a fee Everton surely can't turn down. He's just 7 Premier League games this season, while failing to score.

Last season he had a decent run of form, netting a brace in a 2-1 comeback against Palace at Goodison Park, and that perhaps is what started that interest.

Everton however may not be able to afford letting the player go, with a lack of squad depth in that area and the recent injury to Jack Grealish.

Palace are struggling at the moment, winless in over 10 games and failing to beat 10 men Nottingham Forest last time out.

Brennan Johnson has not impressed since his arrival, yet to score or create. However he has managed to find himself in the book twice.

The Eagles really need to find an answer to their problems. Is McNeil their answer?
